Other Car Rental Programs (ie. Alamo, Enterprise) - Is there any Car Rental Status running around?

The question is, if there is any (High)Status somewhere around, on the internet, in your mind, in your pocket, something you know about?

See, i am travelling to San Francisco for July to August and really need a car, as i am planning to ride down the coastal highway up until San Diego and back north through some National Parks, tipping South Lake Tahoe and going back to San Francisco...Thats about three to 4 weeks, and cars are really expensive!

So i thought about asking you guys, if there is any chance to get a status (for free?) and get an upgrade to a nice car?! All help is appreciated!

If I remember correctly all car rentals but sixt restrict to north america residents.
BuT as I ssometimes use my Dominican Republic residency for car rentals I can assure you there are some real deals out there make sure you change you country to germany.
I did a test booking on Budget for SFO last 2 weeks in August and US was 800.00 but germany was under 600 with all insurances included.

Thanks so far!
I found some rental-status with national and will try to get an affordable car with them - if that does not work out, i'll try with Hertz....And if that doesnt work out either, i'll come back to you and ask the questions again!
