Does anyone have the TAM MCT chart for GRU? I'm trying to do a 45 min cx between JJ and SAA, intl to intl. If it helps, I'll be in F on JJ, so I know they try to expedite for those pax. Transit pax stay inside customs/security, right?

Different tickets? If it's one ticket, no problem. You don't have to pass customs, there is a security check for transit passengers, if I remember correctly

I wouldn't do that. Not at GRU. Even if you reach GRU on-time (not an easy thing with JJ) you can be waiting 20 to 30 minutes inside the aircraft waiting for a gate. I know this for a fact. If it's on the same ticket AND you don't mind to travel next day go for it.

Absolutely not on a different ticket.

I would not do it at GRU.

Lots of times you end on a remote gate, waiting for a bus to the terminal.

Last Friday I (for the first time on my life) experienced a traffic congestion on the tarmac, with all the busses converging (through two roads) in the direction of the terminal.

GRU is becoming more and more chaotic each day.

It is going to be one ticket. I just wanted to know if it was legal. Also, would JJ rebook on another airline as part of their superior F ground service, or am I stuck for 24 hours?

If they sold / will sell you the ticket, then it is legal, which is not the same as easily done or low risk.

Besides other points already made, keep in mind that even international connecting passengers go through an x-ray line upon debarking at GRU; there will be someone from TAM receiving the passengers but there is not much they can do to expedite your transit, and they probably will not have direct contact with SAA agents at the gate.

If you miss your SAA flight, the next one will be on the next day; I don't think there are other (direct) flights between GRU and JNB.

And, by the way, TAM service is fine on the air, but only so-so on the ground.

My end destination is MRU. EK will get me there through DXB, so I was just curious if JJ would make that change for me or if I'm stuck waiting visaless in the airport for 24 hours.

Yes, you are right! There's a only daily GRU-JNB flight.

Not true!

SA flies the route 12 weekly.

A 6PM (daily) departure and a 1:30AM (5 weekly) one....^
