Now that we have confirmed it is true going both ways:

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/other-asian-australian-south-pacific-frequent-flyer-programs/1320563-earning-ua-mileageplus-eva-air.html
Fly UA -> Evergreen Club

Please report your success here:
1 - which way (UA flight credited to EVA or EVA flight credited to UA)
2 - when did you fly
3 - when did the credit post on your account
4 - class and % of miles awarded
I won't have a test case to report until late June or July.
Thanks.

I asked both BR and UA agents in TPE about this - they said that not too many people are cross-crediting yet.
Has anyone done this and seen the miles credited yet?
Thanks.
For the moment, I'll stick with crediting to BR until it's clear whether or not I'll requalify for Diamond status. I am still hoping to use some of my mileage to fly on UA though...

Flew 2 weeks ago and still no sign of credit. Has anyone received credit on United from EVA flights?
Thanks.
On my flight home TPE-SEA last week, I saw a bunch of passengers adding their MP numbers at the gate, but I haven't heard of anyone yet that has actually gotten credited.
I kept my BR number in the record for the entire trip.

It is now a month and still no sign of the credit - 3 different flights in the last month in 4 different PNRs (2 passengers, 2 trips, intra-Asia and TPAC). Will wait another week before calling them.

Called BR and they said the mileage credit were sent to UA and confirmed the MP#. However, the credit did not show up.
UA MP Desk in the US said to send in scanned boarding pass and eTkt receipt. The problem is the receipt is in Chinese.
UA TPE MP Desk says they can help with the translation. I asked her if she has seen any successful automatic crediting. She said people only call when there are problems :D
Still hoping to see what others' experiences are. How can no one here has received automatic MileagePlus credit for EVA flights taken since 3/3?

We were able to get the missing miles from June posted manually - intra-Asia and TPAC flights. % is as advertised. Not EQM - RDM only as advertised.
Just took another flight and let's see if it posts automatically.

Has the UA mileage crediting gotten any faster? Just flew EVA this weekend and they added my M+ number to the reservation with no problem, but I haven't seen any activity in my account yet.

1 - EVA flight credited to UA
2 - 6/24/2012 BR160 Taipei-Seoul (ICN)
3 - Manually. Called United after 4 weeks later. UA rep. only asked me to provide original e-tickets number and flight details via phone line. Checked MileagePlus account after 1hrs and it just posted!
4 - Business/C class, 1,126 miles awarded. (125%)

Had flights in late July and no sign of the miles. It seems automatic crediting is not working. I will give BR and UA MP TPE a call next week to see if they can push HQ to fix the problem.

LAX-TPE-LAX 6/19 to 7/15... no credit as of today... called TPE to give them my ETKT number, will report back when I get the miles :)
Update- Got miles less than 24 hours after I gave UA my ticket number. I would have to say, 15k miles on UA is quite a bit more useful than on BR!

I ended up calling UA MP after the miles did not show up for two weeks after our first flight. I gave them my e-ticket number and also my mom's and brother's e-ticket numbers to send the requests to BR. We flew on separate dates from SFO to TPE (BR17 on 8/6 and 8/10) but together from TPE to SFO (BR28 on 8/17). After about another two weeks, I noticed that the miles were still not credited to my MP account. I made another call yesterday and the agent discovered that somehow my e-ticket number got linked with my mom's MP account and my mom's e-ticket number linked with my brother's MP account. So the two of them had the proper miles credited (6225 miles one-way for K class) but I was left untouched. So the agent decided to try sending another request to BR but with my brother's e-ticket number linked to my MP account and voila! Today the miles were credited. I don't understand how BR can mix up the ticket numbers with the MP accounts because according to UA, the name on the ticket must match the name under the MP account for miles to be credited which is logical. Hopefully this process is automated in the future, otherwise it's gonna be a pain to have to call and ask for mileage credit every time!

Flew UA SFO-NRT-TPE and back about 3 weeks ago. Not sure when the mileage got posted, but it's there. The classes are listed as L for SFO-NRT, NRT-TPE, and NRT-SFO; TPE-NRT is listed as M. I'm not sure what the percentage of the actual miles flown are, but the L class ones are definitely less than the actual distances flown.
Getting EVA miles into UA mileage plus is harder than going to the moon!
I had a long business trip back in Oct'12, with 6 eligible segments on EVA. UA FF number is entered and correctly shows on boarding pass but no credit. I called UA after 30 days but told to wait 45 days. I called after 45 days and was told to submit missing mile form but the form was designed for UA flights and doesn't seem to have field to enter partner flight info. Called again and was told to fax in all my boarding passes. Waited 2 weeks, nothing, so called again and was told to fax in receipt showing ticket number. I faxed and 2 weeks later still nothing. After 90 days, I called and was told there is no record of me inquiring about the missing miles - start the process all over again!?!?!
I am not sure if it's EVA's fault or UA's fault but this will definitely force me to fly Delta or China to Taiwan from now on. It may not be UA's fault but they should do more for their MP members as the alliance rules is clear that the targeting FF program of the passenger is responsible to resolve any discrepancies.

Not so bad for us. We had 4 BR legs (15 Sep, 17 Sep, 4 Oct, 10 Oct), with UA nos on boarding passes. The miles did not show up automatically (no surprise there).
I rang UA MP on 30 Oct (via the Australian no to an offshore call center), and the miles were correctly credited by 2 Nov. All info was taken over the phone.

This is completely UA's fault. Their system is not processing the credits sent from BR. If you contact their TPE office, they will take care of it as they know how widespread the problem is.
E-mail copies your e-ticket receipt (showing your trip, ticket numbers and your fare classes) and boarding passes to UA TPE. The address is:
tpe (put a period here, no space) mpi (put the you know what sign here, no space) united.com
They will take care of it quickly for you.

Mine just posted after filling out the missing mileage form online and sending in my eticket receipts. I had flights on economy deluxe, but were all ticketing-class V, which I didn't realize at time of booking. All posted at 50 %, which is consistant with the table, but I wasn't flying deep discount economy.
