NEW YORK (AP) — A puppy named Byrdie delayed several flights at New York's LaGuardia Airport when she escaped from her crate and frolicked around a busy runway.

The Port Authority says the 30-pound Rhodesian ridgeback scampered around the runway for about 10 minutes on Wednesday while authorities unsuccessfully tried to collar her.

Yet another reason I'm not sold on flying my two anywhere. :)

At least this story had a happy ending unlike the case of the whippet a few years ago at JFK that was in town for the Westminster Dog Show, somehow got out of it's crate and they never recovered the poor dog! :(

:( One can hope she ended up as a companion, rather than meeting a horrible end.
