got a wild hair and have decided to make a trip over - would greatly appreciate any and all help/advice. Can travel from 5/20 - 6/26 (in a month, I know it's crazy); I can handle coach.

Can fly from AUS or DFW - but AUS is home.
100k BA
93k USAirways
50k United
25k AA
30k SPG

Was thinking a one-way award to SGN, make my way to Cambodia, then a one-way award home from PNH.

I know BA is impossible to book at this late stage; fairly new to this so not sure how US Air would work....

ThankYouThankYou in advance.

Roundtrip to and from BKK. Buy a ticket to SGN, travel to Cambodia, buy a ticket to BKK. Or the reverse of that.

Otherwise, one way from USA to Singapore/Saigon and then a one way from Saigon to USA. Singapore is usually pretty easy to get Saver Awards on Star Alliance.

BKK, SGN and SIN are basically your options.

If you'd like to see some of Vietnam, I suggest flying first into Hanoi, making your way south on Vietnam Airlines domestic service, and returning from Phnom Penh. I fly there fairly often, and prefer Asiana Airlines (* Alliance) via Seoul - probably the most comfortable coach experience you can find, and their Korean FA's are nothing less than fantastic. You're going at a VERY HOT and WET time - not high season by a long shot, but you will see a large number of domestic travelers starting in June.

US Air only codeshares to Vietnam. The other airlines I would consider would be Korean Air and Singapore. Both of those carriers fly the A380 out of LAX to their home bases, and then transfer to one of 3 international airports in Vietnam.
