Does anyone know why a four day rental reward is 2600 points but a week rental is 2500?

It really doesn't makes since it starts at 600 pts a day the first 2 days and then jumps to 700 pts a day on the 3rd and 4th days. The only logically reason I can think of is that daily rates tend to be typically much higher than weekly rates.

Because Hertz is a highly irrational corporation.

Seriously.

What happens if you return a week rental early? Do they take another 100 points out of your account?

Price out a four day car rental and then price out a week car rental, in many cases the four day will be higher priced then a week. This is not unique to Hertz as daily rates tend to be much higher then the average daily rate of a week rental.

Example:
May 14 - May 18 - DCA - Prestige Rental - FX35 - $143.49 per day - $640.25 Total with Taxes ($66.29 in taxes)

May 14 - May 21 - DCA - Prestige Rental - FX35 - $545.00 per week - $609.10 Total with Taxes ($64.10 in taxes)

Now there are cases where this doesn't work, but it's common enough that Hertz's program takes that into account in pricing their reward coupons.

Now if you were to return a week rental early, most likely the rental would be repriced from a week rental to a daily rate (so using the above example, your return receipt would show a four day rental rate), which would then mean the applied coupon code (which really applies a PC code to the rental) would not be applicable (similar to a $50 off a week coupon not applying to a day rate) and would be dropped off your rental and you would pay the entire rental rate.
