Turkish Airlines Miles&Smiles - TK flights changed, now 11 hr layover

I had flights on TK from Tel Aviv to Cairo via Istanbul with a 1:45 layover that I booked through UA MileagePlus, economy ticket, class X.

TK changed the flights so the layover would be 45 minutes which makes it an invalid itinerary since the minimum connection time in IST is 1 hr.

There is an earlier TK flight that would yield a 6 hr layover in IST which, while far from ideal, would have been adequate except that there are no award seats available.

UA was able to put me on a later TK flight outbound to Cairo but with a layover in IST from 11:40 pm to 10:30 am also economy, class X.

Is TK obligated to put me up in the airport hotel with meals because of their schedule change and inadequate (IMO) rebooking with much longer layover than originally confirmed?

I did find another thread linking to TK's website describing conditions for a free hotel. To summarize: both inbound/outbound flights TK operated; outbound is first scheduled flight to destination; layover more than 10 hours but less than 24 hours.

Supposedly this is also good for award tickets on TK booked through partner airlines.

Some of the reviews of this service were less than glowing but I don't think I have many options other than a ~17 hr journey commencing at 6:30 am from Tel Aviv, transiting Vienna and Cairo, arriving 11:45 pm in Aswan (final destination). I'll take my chances overnighting in IST at the purportedly free hotel.

I also found out that there are schedule changes on all our TK flights.
Now we can't make an International to International connection at IST.
I checked our reservation online at TK's site and all original flights are marked as "WK" (cancelled) and then "SC" (schedule change) with new flight schedule.
They didn't call us or notify by email at all...
I hope we can delay the connection flight by one day from IST (that means we need to stay in Istanbul overnight) so that we can continue to our final destination.
In our case can we get a free hotel??? Could you give me the link?

She had to ask somebody, but she told me to go to TK desk at IST when we arrive there. I'm not sure if I can trust her, though...

In speaking with TK, an agent told me that if you change your flight you are ineligible for the free hotel. I figured that had to be wrong because the reason I had to change my flight in the first place was because TK changed in my original itinerary leaving me with an invalid 45 minute international connection in IST.

Exactly. I got the same situation as yours. TK has changed their flight schedule and I had to change my flight to make the connection at IST legal.

That is more than infuriating.

Are they providing you with the free hotel?
