Other North & South America Frequent Flyer Programs - First leg Star Alliance [on TAM], rest with Skyteam

I am looking at a routing were I check in with TAM, but the two following flights to my final destination are with KLM.

My question; When I check in would TAM give the Star Alliance Gold benefits of extra luggage and lounge at departure?

When checking in with TAM for a TAM operated flight and being a Star Alliance Gold customer, you are fully entitled to all the benefits that Star Gold offers to the route you are taking that flight, regardless of your final destination or other carriers/alliances you may fly en route.

TAM will also tag your luggage to your final destination, but obviously any STAR priority tags will become meaningless once you start your SkyTeam journey aboard KLM.
