Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer - How accurate are SQ's aircraft change predictions?

I'm keen to check out the new C on the 77W but with any decent routes to and from Europe/Asia it's ridiculously priced. I've now seen that the AMS route is currently served by the 772 but is due to be updated to a 77W from 1 July. Happily, when I plugged early July dates from AMS on the SQ website it seems l can get a good priced flight on a 77W.
But, my concern is that I'll pay this not-insignificant amount only to have SQ delay the rollout. My question is: does this happen often enough to be a risk to be attempting an early July flight like this?

AMS fares are cheaper than the rest of Europe for the moment. SQ also does not dwiddle on aircraft changes. If they have said that the 77W is operating from a certain time, it will start flights.. the only exception it has changed its mind , so to speak was right after the Mar 11, 2011 Earthquake. It delayed the launch of its A380 flights by about 6 months.
I doubt anything significant would happen like that in AMS.

If you just want to try out the new C on a short haul, there is MAN-MUC or vice versa. This is assuming you live in Europe.

I don't, I need to get back to Asia so am looking for long haul flights.
Thanks for the advice both of you! Looks like this might be worth booking.
