Oceania (Australia, New Zealand & the South Pacific) - Where to go for great beach vacation?

Here's the situation: In August we have a flight into SIN and out of BKK two weeks later. We'd like to stop somewhere in the middle for a couple of days of luxury beach relaxation in a country other than Singapore or Thailand (I like my passport stamps!). So far, I am thinking of Amanpulo in the Philippines. Does anyone have any recommendations?
My "gold standard" beach vacation is the Four Seasons Landaa Giravaaru in the Maldives, so any recommendations along those lines would be welcome! Vietnam? Bali? Elsewhere in the Philippines?
Thanks!

East coast Malaysia or Pulau Tioman.

Personally, I like the islands off Sihanoukville in Cambodia. May not be the standard you are looking for, as it is still relatively undeveloped but it is a destination that not that many people have gone to yet.

Langkawi in Malaysia. If you want untouristed but not undeveloped. A different kind of beach (the jungle goes to the water for the most part, and you have to hang your stuff on ropes to be out of reach of the sedate but curious monkeys).

It's much more touristy now with the tour as well. If you want to make it a beach trip go to Penang and take the fast ferry from there.

It's much more touristy now with the tour as well. ....Yeah, there is a 2 block stretch and when the cruise ship comes in they have a traffic jam (6 cars and 8 buses) ... at least that is what I saw. Easy to avoid that side of Langkawi and stay on the wild side (where the monkeys don't beg yet and are shy).
