I've been able to find a decent copy of the seat map here
http://corporate.alitalia.it/it/group/fleet/b777.htm
But unsure as to the best places for 2 children (5 and 8)and 3 adults in the new biz class. Maybe two pods in the middle and a side seat?
Anyone flown one of these yet?
Thanks!

Great question. Haven't heard of anyone that has flown on the new 777's yet on here. I am curious myself. Heading to FCO from LAX in June in Y+. Looking at the seat map though, I'd say a child and adult each in two middle sections and then one adult on the outside. Just my two-cents though based on the seat map. Have safe trip!

I've flown on the A330 magnifica and classica + (which are the same seats as on the new refurbished 777's)
I'd definately take two pods in the middle and side seat aiming to be in rows 2 - 3 or 4
Side seats are ideal if you are flying solo because they really are secluded - even more so than DL 767-400 BusinessFirst seats

I'm flying JFK-FCO in June and noticed plane switch from old B777 to new A330. :D
I'm glad to hear that you liked the new cabin, but what is bothering me is that according to Alitalia website Magnifica seats pitch changed from 57-59'' to 43.5'' in A330 and from 60'' to 44'' in B777. Surely that's not the case?

I would have the two children in rows: 1-3-5-9-11 middle, if they get along and can help one another. These middle seats are right next to one another. If keeping them separate is the plan, then 2,4,6 10 do the trick - both seats are easy access out - with a large open area between the two seats - where frankly they could spread out on the floor.
As for the adults - 2 could go behind middle - and one on the window. The window and center do not line up perfect, with the window being slightly ahead of the middle numbers. If you have any specific questions your welcome to pm me.

I think the new seat configuration is like (but not exactly the same as) the new DL 767 where each row is shifted left or right a little bit relative to the row in front (or behind). So while the distance between your seat back (non movable) and the seat back "in front" of you is very short, the seat back in front of you is not actually directly in front of you. Instead, what is directly in front of you is a "foot well" which I believe serves as a table for the passenger in front of you.
