I was about to pull the trigger on an all inclusive in Cozumel last night for 5/06-5/10. Price was right, but was going to sit on it for a night. This morning, when I went to book it the price had went up by about 75%. Is this normal? Not only did this resort go up but about 75%, but just about every resort that I was looking at, not only in Cozumel, but also Montego Bay, Cabo, and Cozumel went up substantially, for the exact same dates, in the span of about 12 hours.
Whats the reasoning behind this, and might it go back down again?
I thought, maybe it was a special sale, but the discount next to it last night said "Book last minute and save" and it still says the same today, just with a much higher price. Any experience with this?

While I'm sure you are looking to keep within a budet, this is more of a question to ask in the Online Travel Booking forum, so I'm moving it there.

I would guess that last night, May 6th was two weeks away.
This morning it's less than two weeks away. Cut off's like two weeks, three weeks, and one month can really change prices.
as to where will they go between now and then? Nobody knows.

If it was a hotel only booking, then the sale probably ended. You could wait for another sale, but personally I would check other websites, and book the lowest I can find now. Normally hotel bookings are cancellable, so just make sure the one you book is. This is low season in that area, so many websites have buy 2, get the third night free.

Thanks...Booked it 3 days ago. Last night, prices dropped 25% again, so I cancelled and booked again at the lower rate. Still watching in case a better sale pops up.
