InterContinental Hotels: Priority Club & Inter-Continental Ambassador - Holiday Inn earnings - not always 10 points per $?

I've always believed the earnings rate for Priority Club to be 10 points per $ so I was very taken aback when about to complete a booking at $146 per night to learn I was only going to receive 1100 points per night rather than the 1460 I would expect. The rate is pre tax etc. I've now emailed priority club customer service 3 times but no response.
I called the hotel directly, as I've stayed there often before and they were as baffled as me but couldn't help any further as obviously the points are awarded by PC directly.
Any clues?
It's Holiday Inn, Lakewood Ranch, Sarasota so a standard HI.

What did Priority Club say when you called them toll-free at 1-888-211-9874 (Skype)

Where are you seeing the lower point rate. Every example I look at shows the points at 10 per $1.
However, the points awarded are determined from the hotel. I lost around 20k points from stays at the HI Kingston South as they deducted the tax from the pre-tax price. No amount of calls and e-mails would get the hotel or PC to agree that his was incorrect. In the end I moved my stays elsewhere and chalked it up to experience.
Of course the flip side is that we can earn many more 1000's of points through promos (most of which we should not get).

The VAT and/or local tax are normally removed first then the 10 points per $ is awarded for the remainder. I have also had the cost of breakfast removed in the past , although the same hotel will then give points on other food less the VAT. Complaining is a waste of time as I have normally been ignored.

It doesn't include tax or local charges (they are on top of the $146) and is a room only rate not breakfast so I can't grasp why they would deduct anything further from it. The hotal say it's not them and they can't understand it, PC don't respond to emails and their UK call center are as useful as a chocolate teapot. I'm reluctant to ring the US as it isn't toll free from the UK and I don;t have skype. I think they are doing me out of 4000 points but they simply won't discuss -smacks of being very underhand.

Where is this property located? A clearer answer can be provided with more detail rather than vague reference.

skype is a free download and a few cents for a call - anywhere. Just give them your cc details for top ups to your account.

I have just had that with a stay posted from Burnley, they have deducted the tax from the pre tax or net cost and awarded points on that.
The sad thing is that having already had to deal with IHG customer services this week on a simple points query, and taking over an hour on the phone, being hung up on, being randomly transferred to completely unrelated departments and also being given completely wrong information (I suspect I was lied to as agents did not want to deal with it), I really do not want to spend the time and effort to put this right. It is just not worth the effort. Unfortunately, it is not the first time this has happened.
Instead, I will simply stay somewhere else when next in the area.

As I stated in the original thread the property in question is the Holiday Inn, Lakewood Ranch, Sarasota. I'm not sure how this can be construed as "vague reference"

The $146 rate includes tax, and the "Eligible points for this reservation: 7,700" is based on the first night rate x number of nights. The good news is that this stay will now cost you 11.5% less than you were expecting.

1 night at $110, 6 nights at $153= total $1028 which I would have expected to translate to 10280 points but HI seem to be short changing guests if their first night's stay is cheaper. I've recently booked a HI stay where the first night is more expensive and surprise, surprise, the points are based on the average rate so they obviously want to have it all their own way.
So if I booked 2 stays - a single night at $110 and 6 nights at $153 I end up with 10290 points (1110 and 9180(6x1530)).
What a farce - makes no difference to me so if that is how ICH are playing things now then I'll just make 2 individual bookings.

The predicted points are often wrong, to the point where i ignore it - why not wait to see what posts and then claim if it's less than you are entitled to under the rules?

Update
Despite some correspondance with Carolyn there hasn't been any kind of resolution on this so it looks like I will have to book 2 stays to get maximum points and prepare for battle afterwards if I don't receive what I should.
Not a great way to start a stay, anticipating a problem but I guess at least I'm forewarned.
