my spouse and i accumulated a fair pile of skypass miles years back, and are sitting on a lot of UR points thanks to our sapphire cards. we have a family of four and want to plan a trip from US to korea using only miles.
i tried a few dummy bookings through the website, and found no more than two seats available in prestige or economy, and those only start to show up about 5-6 months out. the same appears to be true if i try award tickets in economy.
if i try calling, is there award availability that doesn't show on the website? does it matter if i ask for an english- or korean-speaking agent?
do upgrade awards come from the same pool of availability as award bookings?
is booking an award trip for 4 even possible?
