Qantas doesn't have a U in it.
As a oneworld emerald member, you will be entitled to use the far superior QF First lounge prior to your SYD/LAX flight on Qantas.

honestly - who cares whether or not people spell Quantas with a 'u'?
Certainly not QF as long as people buy tickets and fly with them: quantas.com defaults to the qantas.com website - they don't reject anyone using the site and buying tickets out of principle because they entered the wrong name...

I haven't heard of the others but might try out Brit Air one day ( http://www.britair.com/ )
The spelling of Qantas with a bonus U is indeed on par with the others. It isn't as bad as the other indications of inability to spell such as "loose" rather than "lose"

You're posting in the Qantas forum which is in the title of the page. How hard can it be to get it right?
It irks me just as much as fellow staff members who can't spell my name right. It's populated in the address field, just copy it!

ok ok, maybe I should have posted 'what does it matter?' If people spell it with a 'u'.
every time someone spells it that way the first thing people do is correct the spelling. really, does it matter? it just makes us look like the BA board if we jump down people's throats for something so trivial :)

I am surprised that an AA Executive Platinum member doesn't know the oneworld lounge access rules. Where have you been?! :D
You are oneworld Emerald, and as indicated further up the thread, you will have access to the fabulous Qantas First lounge (and Qantas International Business lounge too if you so wish).

There will be many AA ExPlats who get their status from flying domestically only and are not used to have any lounge access due to status.

I think it may be unfair to compair the BA board; at least this thread that was started had relevence to Qantas rather than garbage about anything other than BA

That was the point I was making, I couldn't agree more. I actually think that the "there is no 'U' in Qantas" comment has become something of an in-joke. Search FT and you'll find dozens of occurences.
