Qantas Frequent Flyer - Access to Quantas Biz lounge at SYDView Full Version : Access to Quantas Biz lounge at SYD vishnada Apr 21, 12, 1:05 am Are American Airlines EXECPLAT members allowed to use the QF biz lounge at SYD prior to SYD/LAX flight, if ticketed Econ class ? txs bugayev Apr 21, 12, 1:08 am Qantas doesn't have a U in it. As a oneworld emerald member, you will be entitled to use the far superior QF First lounge prior to your SYD/LAX flight on Qantas. LHR/MEL/Europe FF Apr 21, 12, 2:51 am honestly - who cares whether or not people spell Quantas with a 'u'? Certainly not QF as long as people buy tickets and fly with them: quantas.com defaults to the qantas.com website - they don't reject anyone using the site and buying tickets out of principle because they entered the wrong name... Tyrolean Apr 21, 12, 2:56 am Quantas.com used to direct to the US page... BTW I like flying AMICIAN AIRWAYS, BRIT AIR and Lusthansa. Dave Noble Apr 21, 12, 3:18 am Quantas.com used to direct to the US page... BTW I like flying AMICIAN AIRWAYS, BRIT AIR and Lusthansa. I haven't heard of the others but might try out Brit Air one day ( http://www.britair.com/ ) The spelling of Qantas with a bonus U is indeed on par with the others. It isn't as bad as the other indications of inability to spell such as "loose" rather than "lose" Dave Noble Apr 21, 12, 3:19 am honestly - who cares whether or not people spell Quantas with a 'u'? Obviously enough people to ensure that it generally gets mentioned when it happens m0hamed Apr 21, 12, 8:10 am Obviously enough people to ensure that it generally gets mentioned when it happens You're posting in the Qantas forum which is in the title of the page. How hard can it be to get it right? It irks me just as much as fellow staff members who can't spell my name right. It's populated in the address field, just copy it! LHR/MEL/Europe FF Apr 21, 12, 8:20 am ok ok, maybe I should have posted 'what does it matter?' If people spell it with a 'u'. every time someone spells it that way the first thing people do is correct the spelling. really, does it matter? it just makes us look like the BA board if we jump down people's throats for something so trivial :) BadgerBoi Apr 21, 12, 8:21 am honestly - who cares whether or not people spell Quantas with a 'u'? .. Aumericans don't care, everyone else does:D BadgerBoi Apr 21, 12, 8:24 am ok ok, maybe I should have posted 'what does it matter?' If people spell it with a 'u'. every time someone spells it that way the first thing people do is correct the spelling. really, does it matter? it just makes us look like the BA board if we jump down people's throats for something so trivial :) It's always just a gentle correction. On the BA board they eat their young, there's no comparison. Genius1 Apr 21, 12, 1:22 pm I am surprised that an AA Executive Platinum member doesn't know the oneworld lounge access rules. Where have you been?! :D You are oneworld Emerald, and as indicated further up the thread, you will have access to the fabulous Qantas First lounge (and Qantas International Business lounge too if you so wish). bugayev Apr 21, 12, 3:18 pm ok ok, maybe I should have posted 'what does it matter?' I had no idea this was such a controversial issue and shall avoid this in the future. Where have you been?! :D You are oneworld Emerald, and as indicated further up the thread, you will have access to the fabulous Qantas First lounge (and Qantas International Business lounge too if you so wish). There will be many AA ExPlats who get their status from flying domestically only and are not used to have any lounge access due to status. m0hamed Apr 21, 12, 8:06 pm It's always just a gentle correction. On the BA board they eat their young, there's no comparison. Cruel, but fair! Dave Noble Apr 21, 12, 8:10 pm I think it may be unfair to compair the BA board; at least this thread that was started had relevence to Qantas rather than garbage about anything other than BA The key question was answered together with the correction on airline name and was hardly impolite DH188 Apr 21, 12, 8:23 pm I haven't heard of the others but might try out Brit Air one day ( http://www.britair.com/ ) The spelling of Qantas with a bonus U is indeed on par with the others. It isn't as bad as the other indications of inability to spell such as "loose" rather than "lose" So how would you rate "compair" vs compare? BadgerBoi Apr 21, 12, 9:30 pm I think it may be unfair to compair the BA board; at least this thread that was started had relevence to Qantas rather than garbage about anything other than BA The key question was answered together with the correction on airline name and was hardly impolite That was the point I was making, I couldn't agree more. I actually think that the "there is no 'U' in Qantas" comment has become something of an in-joke. Search FT and you'll find dozens of occurences. Interestingly a short time after reading this thread I read a lament on the BMI forum where someone felt that he was being bashed up on the BA forum. I had a look and sure enough he was being ridiculed for something that he posted there. It was like a bunch of schoolgirls wearing heavy make-up, with their tunics hoisted up around the top of their thighs, sneering at a brighter but less tarty looking classmate. |
