I'm completly new to AF and have no status.
I had booked a fligt on tuesday 24 april from ARN to CDG AF 1463 at 06.50.
This evening I got a mail telling me I had been changed to the flight leaving at 14.25 AF 2063. Why?
Of course there is no way of contacting them until monday, acording to their website and number posted on there, but if someone have a number I could try over the weekend i would be greatful.
Tho the flight was booked over 2 months ago it dosen't help that it is in Y.
Any expirienced flyer mind helping me and explaining, please.
I loose a whole day in Paris becouse of this, not fair!!!
Sad Maya:confused:

Apparently they canceled their morning flight on April 24.
You should call them and ask to be put on the SK flight leaving at 7:15. That flight has still seats available in economy.
Alternatively, accept the afternoon flight that they have offered to put you on but claim compensation under Reg 261/2004. Since they informed you less than 7 days before scheduled departure and since you will arrive more than two hours later than originally scheduled, under Art 5 of the Reg they should pay you €250 for flights under 1500 km or €400 for flights over 1500 km. Not 100% sure of the exact distance between ARN and CDG but this might be just over the 1500 km threshold.
A cancellation a few days before the flight is due is highly unlikely to be justified by extraordinary circumstances so they are unlikely to be able to use this get-out clause.

I knew I was right to ask you guys on here, what a Flyertalker dosen't know is simply not worth knowing.
Thank You!!! :-: :-: :-:
Now how to I get in touch with them? Do I wait till I'm at airport or call them? If calling can I call on weekend or do I have to wait till monday?
Again brunos and NickB :-: :-: :-:

If calling can I call on weekend or do I have to wait till monday? If you want to be put on the SK flight, call them ASAP. They may or may not accept (they are reluctant to put you on a non-AF/KL flight if you are on a very cheap ticket) but in any event do it as soon as possible.
If you are happy to take the afternoon flight and collect compensation instead, there is no hurry. If they told you that they had put you on the afternoon flight without asking you to call them to confirm, then you do not need to do anything. If they asked you to call them to confirm, then call them but no need to hurry. Note that if, when you call, they offer you the SK flight and you decline, you would no longer be eligible for compensation since they would have offered you a flight that arrives within 2 hours of originally scheduled time (and does not leave more than one hour earlier of originally scheduled time).
One more post to reach 10,000!!!!!I stared into the abyss... and jumped. ;)

Note that if you want to be rebooked on the SK flight, and the AF call centre is reluctant to do so, you could try the KLM Twitter/Facebook team. I have found them to be more flexible for rebooking :) Of course you will need either a Twitter or Facebook account though.

No chance getting thru to AF on phone, did try on Twitter but not holding my breath as Sweden seems to be a low priority country for them. But will try KLM on Twitter tho.
Can I connact KLM in any country, say KLM dutch in english? Will they be able to help?
Talked to travel agent and they said that there is a small posibilty to be rebooked on KLM flight thru AMS, but the people who can help me does not work weekends, have to wait til monday. Looked up KLM flights online and there is a good connection that gets me to CDG at noon and there is avalability in economy yet.
Did ask about the SK flight and no no no they are not playing that game
And this Maya is a little bit more hopefull thanks to NickB, brunos and Xandrios Thank you guys ;)

If you booked through a TA, they should be doing the rebooking/reissue for you.
While you are clearly entitled to compensation if you take the afternoon flight, most airlines try to make it un-easy to get that compensation. So get ready for some efforts. But AF seems to be among the best airlines for promptitude.

I suppose this is the relevant rules since the original flight was cancelled: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Regulation_261/2004#Cancellation
I take it your flight was supposed to arrive CDG at 9.30.
ARN-CDG is 959 mi = 1544 km according to gcmap, ergo a type 2 flight. As I understand the regulations:
a) If they rebook you to the SK flight you are not eligible for compensation since the criteria "depart no more than one hour earlier than scheduled, and arrive no more than two hours later than scheduled" is fulfilled
b) If they rebook you via AMS so that you arrive CDG at 12.00 you are eligible for 200 € since you will be delayed more than 2 but less than 3 hours (compensation is halved if the delay is less than 3 hours on type 2 flights)
c) If you are not offered rerouting from your current afternoon AF flight, you are eligible for full 400 € compensation as you will be delayed by more than 3 hours.
Now, I'm not an expert, so feel free to correct me.
Bear in mind that you may be offered vouchers for KL/AF flights as compensation instead of cash. Unless you fly KL/AF a lot I suggest you insist on cash compensation even if the value of the vouchers are higher than the amount of the cash compensation as the vouchers are rumored to be hard to use with their numerous restrictions.

Yes, thanks to your edvice I got in contact with AF thru Twitter and they solved it for me, or at least I don't loose the day in Paris.
Got rebooked on a KLM fligt to AMS leaving at 09.40 arriving at 11.40 then leaving 12.30 and arriving at CDG at 13.45.
Is 50 mins enough at Schiphol, I asked the person who helped me book on Twitter and they said yes?
I think it's better then the first offer that had me arriving at CDG at 17.00 or something like that.
But will def keep Mandiras words in mind, very very useful :-:
Again you all helped me thru this, Thank you
