Wyndham Rewards - WR on Daily Getaways

Upcoming is availability to purchase 50,000 WR points and the promotion states that they can be used for 2 night stays. But the hotel I want to use is 16,000 points per night. Can I use the points for 3 nights if I purchase the promotion. Is there a 2 night maximum or was that just an illustration?

You will be buying 50k points and can use them any way you want -- hotel stays (any category), airline transfers, gift cards. There will be a lot of competition for these points; last year, the deal sold out immediately. Good luck!

Actually, the upcoming is several different deals (most but not all at the same point/dollar ratios whcih I don't find to be that great in this case) ranging from 16000 for $55 to 50000 for $143. (There's a goofy one for only 48000 for $165 which you should avoid, as you can see it's a way worse deal than the others.)

I don't know how they make up these prices, but I stay at several Days Inns regularly for $55 (AAA or AARP) anyway, yet those Days Inn need more than 8000 points per night! That's why I'm saying this may not be a good deal unless you have a much better-valued redemption in mind.

Some of the hotels have lower redemption rates than they mention so a check online might show a good deal depending on what city you would be staying in.

Just noticed on the T&Cs "Max. Quantity per Purchase: 1. No more than 1 set of points purchased through this offer are allowed per Wyndham Rewards® number."

Does this mean that, unlike last year, you can only purchase one lot of points? Or that, since they artificially break it up among different kinds of Wyndham properties, each "offer" is one set of points?

I read it as each offer may only be purchased once. On the $55 Super 8 offer, it says this:

"Up to 2 sets of points may be purchased for this offer. Up to 6 sets of points may be purchased in total for any Wyndham Rewards offer in this promotion per customer/account number."

So, you are limited to 1 per individual offer, and 2 for the Super 8 offer. Buying one of each and 2 Super 8s will get you to the max of 6 per customer/account #.

That said, good luck. The Wyndham page currently has 44,000 Likes, I'd bet many happened within the last month for the presale code. I'm personally predicting a site crash.

Considering that MRs of less than 3 CPM are pretty decent these days, I'm in. All three airlines have decent awards at reasonably low levels, and I don't have ways to consistently accumulate in AA and UA the same way I can buy US miles, so... yeah.

Indeed. I can do 2 cpm on AA with my eyes closed. I usually aim higher but 2 cpm is my minimum.

That being said, Wyndham has properties overseas where you can also get good value out of the points. I noted their resorts on Bali were 10K-15K a night, for instance. ^

Naturally I copied and pasted the code from the Facebook page. And forgot to remove the extra space at the end that my copying picked up. :mad::mad::mad: Resulted in an invalid code. Figured it out 30 seconds later, all gone.

I was refreshing the browser about twice per second on the 48,000 points deal page. As soon as the "buy now" button appeared, I clicked on it and it was sold out. Maybe others took a little longer (2 seconds?) I couldn't buy it anyway as it requires a US-issued credit card, was just wondering how it would sell.

Still, that was way way faster than last year. I ended up with 80k for $250, which is not bad, but still more than 220k less than I got last year. I suppose, by that ratio, I'll be lucky to get 10k next year!

It was fast, probably within 10 seconds. I had all five pages open in tabs in Chrome. Used a plugin that allows me to reload all tabs at once. Clicked madly between them when it became open. Had my Wyndham rewards and all of my credit card info in a Word file on the computer so I could check out quicker. Only got the 1 32k. I'm happy though!

No luck for me. Tried for what was probably the most popular offer - 50K - and refreshed continuously but I kept getting the notification that the items were in other people's carts. Took about 25 minutes for it to sell out. I guess some people kept things in their cart for quite some time.

Based on my understanding if those are all the points I have then I can only do 30000 points to United 12000 miles. Does it have to be multiples of 30000. In that case I will be short 10000 points...any idea how to get those (via other transfers) instead of staying at Wyndham properties.

Why not 8*17500 = 140000 ?

I got one of the 16K ones for $55 minus 10%. I kept reloading and reloading and reloading all the offers until about 10 minutes in and that one came through.

I guess someone had it in his/her cart and did not buy in time and I got it when it was released. A friend of mine did the same thing.

Only got the "Sold Out" notice on all 5 after about 30 minutes.

Another poster made a comment about "small packages" so I did the math earlier and figured that the 17500 was the best. But you are right, doing it the other way would have left points on the table and I would be at 55k instead of 56k.

I felt like I won the lottery or something. Even though I still had to pay for the points. Still, it feels like a huge win.

Wish I could have bought more - I just wanted to top off our AA accounts that were just sitting there. Added enough to bring hers over 25,000 this morning and applied the rest to my account - guess I'll have to wait until next year to snag some more :-)

I had points, but this morning, they are all gone :( I sent PM to Wyndham Rewards to have it looked into.

Rewards and by request are NOT the same.... Repeat after me. This stupid guest found her points in award wallet by signing up both accounts instead of just the one.
