Hi,

I've booked a one way convertible rental from LAX to SEA for the whole of June. I arrive into LAX at around 1am and don't need to leave LA until late morning.

What's my chances of getting a Mustang?

I've joined the Emerald Club to see whether that helps.
I am thinking I will ring the day before to check on what cars they have in.
I can check in when I first arrive at 1am to see what cars they have. If they don't have a Mustang I can always come back later in the morning.

Is there anything else I can do to maximise my chances of getting a Mustang?

Thanks,

Nigel

Long time between joining FT and first post. Welcome!

Sorry to discourage you, but there's no point of checking inventory a day in advance. LAX is a big location with very rapid turnover.

If you really want a Mustang - not 'or similar' - check the appropriate areas* when you get there and if you don't see one, ask, and suggest a willingness to wait a little bit.

* appropriate = specialty + Emerald Aisle + Executive Selection - they should pull the vehicle off EA/ES for you if you have reserved a convertible.

Thanks 3Cforme.

I hadn't realised this was my first post! Anyway I've recently started checking out everyone's thoughts about BMI Diamond Club and it's slow demise and being taken over by BA, hence an increase in my activity.

And I've got a big trip coming to the West Coast so time to contribute I think!

Perhaps I'm paranoid, but I'd also suggest not volunteering that you have a month-long, one-way rental! If they know they'll be giving up a popular car, they might be less willing to help :)

Sounds like a great trip -- enjoy!
