Bhoja Air’s website indicated that the flight was the young airline’s inaugural service between Karachi and Islamabad.
Bhoja Air was founded in 2011, but did not commence service until last month. The Karachi-based carrier operates a fleet of three Boeing 737-200s, one 737-400 and one McDonnell Douglas DC-9.

This is so sad, and it won't do well for the airline :(

Very sad news. The plane crashed just 5 mins from my house in Pakistan.
May God bless all souls.
what the hell is wrong with these pilots flying to Islamabad?
First the Air Blue crash and now this. Are the pilots not trained to handle thunderstorms and rain? Was the plane fully fit to even fly?
Given that this is in Pakistan, we may never really know what the truth is.
Very sad indeed. My sympathies to the families of loved ones who were on the flight....
I wish that the US NTSB would take charge of the investigation so that the families involved may learn the truth after the investigation. Pakistan I doubt has any capabilities or resources of investigating air crashes.
How sad to see another air accident that probably could have been prevented. RIP.

Most Pakistani pilots are ex-PAF pilots who are considered some of the best trained pilots in the world. Plus the dual Islamabad Airport / Chaklala Airbase isnt foreign to most of these military pilots. Now I am not too certain about the safety processes and airworthiness of these secondary airlines of Pakistan.
I just came back from a visit to Pakistan this last sunday and this news really was upsetting considering the great time I spent in Lahore and Peshawar.

I would be more inclined to suspect maintenance.

Such news are simply saddening. My wife came home last morning from the Middle-East, and whenever I'm not traveling with her, I have all kinds of fears. Well, thankfully, she's home now safe and sound.
My condolences to all the family members of the deceased in this plane crash. The most painful part of all these major accidents is that tens of families suffer a heavy loss, a grief resonated in hundreds of homes.

Given the current state of political relations between Pakistan and the US, this has zero probability of happening.

Bear in mind this was a 737-200 that is extremely old and according to my pakistani friend (aviation buff with a regional police chief for a father) was declared to be not airworthy some years ago.
Yup its maintenance issues, and old radar equipment at the airports, and not so good trained or capable ATC. They do not have the ability to detect microburst.
Not to mention the very old aircrafts in use.
Even the national flag carrier has just grounded afew planes including the 777's due to maintenance/safety issues.
