What trim levels have you received for minivans? I have a minivan rental coming up soon and I was wondering what my chances are to get a minivan with leather seats.
Thanks

I had two minivan rentals in the past two months or so.

First was as JFK and had a Dodge Grand Caravan and that had leather seats, Sirius, etc.

Second was at LAX and that was a Chrysler Town and Country and while that's supposed to be more cushy than the Dodge version, this one didn't have leather, but still had Sirius.

I guess YMMV.

Slightly OT, but LAX had a ton of Nissan Quest minivans on the lot; those things are HUGE!

Not that I have a huge sample, but the 4-5 mini-vans I was "upgraded" to, none have had leather seats.

At O'Hare there were choices of 2012 Dodge caravan, 2012 Nissan Quest S, 2012 Toyota Sienna LE and 2012 Chrysler Town & Country with leather.

I need to carry 7 adults for a weekend trip not too much luggage for 10 hours one way.. Just small ones that can be stowed away. I have heard Sienna, is the best choice but should I take the leather Chrysler with 2 TV screens? The Quest is just bare bones and 3rd row seat can get tight.
Choices Choices.

Does anyone impart some opinion on this?
Thanks

Just because those are the choices at O'Hare does not mean you will get your pick of any of them. All of them may be available, or just one of them. You may not have a choice at all, and just have to accept what they assign you.

Seven normal-sized adults aren't going to be very happy in a Town and Country or Grand Caravan. Well, the driver and passengers in the first and second rows are going to be fine, but the three people stuffed in the back aren't going to be happy. There's not a lot of legroom and they will be shoulder to shoulder.

Can't speak about the other models.

I would be more concerned about seating comfort over leather seats, TVs, etc.

I also think you are going to have a hard time finding room for all the luggage, small as it may be, for seven people. It's not all going to fit behind the thrid row, even if you stack it to the roof.

Suburban would be the only choice for 7 adults, especially for a 10 hour drive....

marvanit, Did I say something to offend you? I understand how rentals work so thanks for your extremely valuable input. But I think you misunderstood my question. Also I think Hertz is pretty accommodating with making changes to requests. Worse case scenario they don't have anything that I need and that is okay.

I was just passing down information about what I saw recently at their location so that it may be helpful to someone else who is on this forum and looking for minivan rentals around this time. This forum has been wonderful and extremely helpful for me so I am just passing down the favor.

My question was if anyone has had any personal experience/opinions, their likes and dislikes about certain models I mentioned in my question. Example: driveability, comfort, space annoyances etc.

Hmmm... Interesting. And why is it better than a minivan in your opinion?

Went down the Keys last summer - 7 of us - We had a standard Yukon which accommodated all of us in good comfort - however with the third row of seats in use, there was absolutely no luggage space at all, however we did get a few bottles in there :)..for a weekend with bags I would go either Yukon XL or Suburban. this will seat every one nicely and you will have a bit of room for everyone's bit and pieces and a few cases of whatever you need to drink- could be a few cases of water even.

However the Traverse should be ok, if you can get one with a second row bench seat, I have rented these a few times and have always had them with 2nd row captains chairs, so 7 would not go in, bit more cargo room in them with the third row in use compared to the standard Yukon

Thats helpful. I will see if I can get an expedition EL/ Suburban etc. or similar.
