I'm looking to fly from KUL to SIN to catch an onwards EK flight to BNE.

AirAsia offers good value, but what's their reliability like? An I likely to get to SIN anywhere near the stated time? Or should I book with Malaysia Airlines?

I fly Air Asia a lot between CGK-DPS, CGK-BKK (sometimes). If I was trying to catch on onward flight, I would probably allow 4 hours minimum between flights; especially in evening. I have been delayed on Air Asia more than onetime, usually around 1 to 1.5 hours. I have never had a flight cancelled.

I have taken several flights on AirAsia in the last few months, mostly within
Malaysia and KUL-SIN. All have been reasonably on time, with no more than
a 15 minute delay. The last KUL-SIN flight arrived early.

OK. So my flight to BNE departs SIN at 3.30pm (I think). There's a 10.10 out of KUL (arriving at 11.10) and a 11.00 (arriving at 12.00).

I take it I should be on the earlier flight, really? Esp as I'll have to clear immigration and go and check in for my BNE flight?

Airasia flights have been on time on all my flights this year. As this is a budget point to point flight it takes no responsibility if a delay causes you to miss the connecting flight.

I had to "burn" my Airasia tickets two years ago because the KUL to Makassar flight was changed to an earlier time, we were in Singapore with confirmed Airasia tickets which could not be changed to catch an earlier flight from Singapore to KUL to connect with the Makassar amended flight. We had to buy new tickets. We accept this risk as the cost of "burning" the tickets, which was a zero fare, and buying new tickets is still cheaper than a normal fare KUL-SIN.

All my AirAsia flights have been reasonably on time.
Still, SIN is a fine airport to hang around in... :)

I've booked the earlier flight just to be safe.

I'm flying out of SIN in J so I'll just abuse the bar in the lounge for a few hours.
