I am arriving into DOH on UA F on the flight from DXB (11/23), have a layover of 6 hours then departing on a QR flight on an A319. As the A319 has only 2 classes of service, will I be still allowed to use the Premium Terminal as a F passenger? It is about the same for the return.
Thanks

QR still operates F on 319 flights to some regional destinations. If your ticket is in F you go to the F side in PT. So you find the answer to your q in your ticket.

If your ticket says First Class on Qatar Airways metal, then yes.

If departing on a LH flight you will not be given access to PT at all. PT is only for QR departing flights.

You will be allowed to use the Premium terminal since your departure flight is a first-class cabin operated by Qatar Airways.

If I'm arriving in C from IAH-DOH and connecting in Y for the short leg to DXB, will I have access to the business class lounge in the Premium Terminal? I have the same situation on the return (DXB-DOH in Y, DOH-IAH in C) but that seems like a clear yes since DOH-IAH will be in C.

You will only have access to Premium Terminal when you fly out of Doha on a Qatar Airways flight in F or C.

AMD to DOH - Qatar Business
DOH to DXB. - United First
I have a 14 hour layover @ DOH. Would I have access to Premium Terminal since I am travelling AMD to DOH in Business?

From my own research....unfortunately no. You would have to be departing on Qatar. There is no *A lounge either. You can pay about $40 to access the Oryx lounge.

We leave in 2 weeks business class on Qatar for the first time, so just browsing Qatar's web site found this on their Lounges page
"For Privilege Club Gold members and first and business class passengers on any airline, the Oryx Lounge provides the perfect environment to work, relax, and freshen up."
It does not mention having to pay for access if flying business class with another airline so you may hopefully be OK. It would be tough to not have any lounge access included with a business class fare.

If you're flying in a United premium cabin, you will get access to the Oryx lounge at no cost.
You should also get access as Star Gold if flying in Y -- I have always gotten access when flying TK, MS, or LH Y as UA*G.
As for the questions about the Premium Terminal, it's really not complicated: you get access to the Premium Terminal business class side if you are departing DOH in QR business class, and to the Premium Terminal first class side if you departing DOH in QR first class. This is the case for either revenue or award tickets. It's true that the forward cabin of two-cabin aircraft is sometimes called business and sometimes called first, so that's a fair question, but, as of now, it's irrelevant what airline and class of service on which you arrive to DOH.

I am arriving QR J from CDG and departing on QR to TBS. It is a 2-cabin plane to TBS, will this be J or F side access in the premium terminal? Also, as my layover is 7 hours, will it be possible to leave my carry-on bags in the premium terminal, go into Doha for a bit, then return to the lounge before my flight?

As for your flight to TBS, it depends whether it's marketed as J or F. Most likely J -- it should say on your itinerary.
As for your second question, there is no practical way to do this. One problem is that there is no inbound immigration at the premium terminal. You'd have to convince the guys at the premium terminal to let you take the bus back to the arrivals terminal and go through immgration there. (You could play dumb, hide your TBS boarding pass, and say that you came to the premium terminal accidentally from your J flight but really want to enter Qatar.) It might be possible. Please let us know if this works!

At the Premium Terminal now. My flight is marked C, so I am on the Business side. After taking a shower, I told a representative I wanted to go to town, was no problem. I left my carry-on bags in a locker in the cloak room, then they called a bus to bring me to the arrival hall after verifying I was eligible for visa on arrival. I went into town for a bit, then caught a cab back directly to the Premium Terminal, went through immigration and now i'm back in the lounge. The only hard part was finding a taxi in Doha to get back here.

Great, thanks for the report. Kudos to the premium terminal staff for flexibility.
P.S. Did you have breakfast anywhere?

I will be flying business class from Brussels to Doha and then connecting onwards to Abu Dhabi in economy class.
Main reason for this is that it is a UA award ticket and only operate F and Y between Doha and Abu Dhabi.
Given that we will arrive in business, will be granted access to the premium terminal? Or will we have to slum it?
Any experiences?

I remember from a previous post that you will not be given access to the PT as your connecting flight is in Y - on your return if it's the same then you should..

From previous experience, you will not be given a Premium Terminal invitation with your boarding passes at BRU. However, you will disembark on the dedicated Business Class bus at DOH but the driver will drop you off at the normal transfer terminal after dropping off other pax at the Premium Terminal. If BRU is treated the same as some other flights, you will be lucky enough to be access the terminal after security screening (usually a complete zoo). The Oryx (Priority Pass) lounge is the only escape from the mayhem!

I am in the same situation as the opening poster....flying in to CDG-DOH in Business class and connecting with a 7 hour layover to DXB but in Economy. This trip is part of UA award ticket. I understand from the Qatar website that there is an "Arrivals Lounge" for first and business customers....
Premium Arrivals Lounge for First and Business Class customers
As a First and Business Class customer, you are welcome to the Qatar Airways Premium Arrivals Lounge at Doha Airport. This luxurious world class facility will offer a comfortable and relaxing environment to refresh and revitalize on arrival. An array of services and amenities and an extensive food and beverage offering will make it a unique arrival experience for you. As soon as you have completed your arrival formalities you can access the Premium Arrivals Lounge from the arrivals meeting hall.
Will I have access to this lounge atleast??

Departing on Y ticket and no status equals no lounge.

If you go through Qatari immigration & enter the country (assuming you have or can buy a valid visa) then yes. You'll then have to go through passport control to get back into the airport for your connecting flight.
You might also like to know that Qatar airlines only arrange transit visa's for passengers with a transit time of greater than 8 hours, this period of time is controlled by Qatari immigration rules. You might want to make sure your transit time is OK with them!

Wife and I will have a 12 hour layover in DOH comes January. We will be arriving from Male. And onward to Frankfurt or Singapore (TBD).
Here's my concern. We will be flying from MLE - DOH on Y, but DOH - SIN/FRA will be on C, however, wife doesn't have a Qatar visa (her nationality requires it). Can we get to the Premium terminal once we step off the MLE-DOH flight? (i.e. do we have to pass thru the customs? )

I think we added some confusion talking about the arrivals lounge (this one is not in the premium terminal, but in the arrivals terminal after immigration). Premium terminal lounges are inside the airport, before immigration.
Leaving DOH in C on QR will give access to premium terminal and the C-lounge. The transfer bus has three stops economy, arrivals, premium. Get off at premium terminal and you will be fine.

You are basically in transit. So no immigration procedures are required. You just get on the bus that will take you straight to the Premium Terminal. No visa required for transit passengers.
But 12 hours? That might be a tad long - even if the lounge is comfortable. Check with QR if they can help assist a temporary visa if QR offers a hotel room.

Thank you so much! This is exactly the kind of info we need! I will definitely look into it. Now that our itinerary has changed, we will be in DOH from 7pm to 7am. A hotel is probably a more viable option. Unless, we can get a sleep room in there (Arriving on ORD-DOH in C at 7pm, leaving MLE at 7am).

you will definitely want to get a hotel room. the lounge is very nice, but it will get boring fast. No sleeping rooms. There are two massage chairs, and one small corner of the lounge with some zero gravity lounge chairs (recliners), which were full the whole time I was there.

My flight is fra-doh (first), doh-bkk(business two-cabin flight).
1. It there specific first class section in permium terminal? if so, will i be able to use it as my arrival flight is in first.
2. If i arrive in first class, are they going to pick me up using private sedan to the terminal and drop me off before the next flight? or do i have to take bus like everyone else?
Note: i only have 2 hour between flights.

Since your connecting flight is in business, that is the lounge you get to use.

Would the Qatar PRIVILEGE CLUB Gold status get you access into the business class lounge of the DOH Premium Terminal if you flew in Y only and had a transfer at DOH?
