I hope this has not been posted before!

Given the recent move by etihad to match gold status, I was wondering if I should just stick with Velocity or go with Etihad Guest.

I mostly fly between SIN-BNE vv in etihad business class and around 4 round trips per year.

For domestic on DJ, possibly around 6 RT in business class short hops.

Occasionally I'll throw in a few trips in SQ ex SIN

For *A I've got it covered by A3*G status.

If I stay exclusively with Velocity I should be able to hit plat this year end.
If I go exclusively with Etihad guest I will hit Gold elite maybe start of 2014.

As of today I have 170 SC in my velocity account.

Which FFP should I choose?

Appreciate any replies!

Best thing is to seperate the earnings. EY gives good mileage on their own flights (assuming you're booked in higher classes) and poor mileage on DJ flights.

It's a similar thing wit DJ. Some here might argue that it's better to park all the miles onto DJ as it allows you to burn them for much lower rates than EY's. Since you're flying DJ in business then the only advantage you'll be receiving is the bonus points that come with status.

The nice thing about EY is that you only need 36939 miles for a 1 way redemption in J between SIN and BNE. Whereas using velocity you'll need 57800 points. The story is reversed for domestic J on DJ. Using EY's you'll need 30000! miles, whereas with velocity you only need 13800.

I's easy to see why it might be better to keep both accounts (EY and DJ) active and separate.

I think wait to see whether you get matched!

it is much easier to climb to virgin plat than to get to Etihad gold elite and there is nothing much about EY elite except that you can access the F lounges .
if already flying F then it s no big deal
Im plat and on way to gold elite EY but would keep my plat first.
looking at the redemption for say SYD LHR F they are both the same amount( 178k i think) of points though you can get availability more on virgin- go figure that one!
