View Full Version : J Product on EK432 and EK405?

Flying from MEL-SIN next month in J. When I come to select my seat, however, I'm faced with an issue I've not had before...

On my outbound leg from SIN-BNE (EK432), the business cabin is basically just 6 rows in one block, in a 2-3-2 configuration, numbered row 6-11. Row 8, however, is a bassinet seat? Are rows 6 and 7 in a kind of separate cabin?

This is then reflected in the seat selection for EK405, as it splits rows 6 and 7 into a separate section.

Row 6 is blanked out on both flights.

Any ideas for best seat choice?

Rows 6 and 7 are separated from rows 8 to 11 by a Galley.

If you're looking for privacy, then rows 6 and 7 would be ideal. This layout should be on both EK405 and EK432.

Row 6 window seats (only gets allocated at the airport), followed by row 7 (but there's a window missing there but nevertheless).

Row 6 is a favourite because you get your screen within the seat and so you could watch while you're lying, whereas in other rows (except for row 8) the screen is fixed in the seat in front of you. Plus I noticed the leg space makes the recline feel more proper. And then you have the distance from the galley (true only a row away but still) which makes it feel more private/quiet.

OK thanks.

Well based on that I'll request Row 6 at Check In, but prior to that would you take a seat in row 7 or row 9?

Done. I've taken the aisle seat on both flights, as I read somewhere the window isn't there in row 7; correct?

I loved the window seat. Only the last window of the row is gone.
See this photo. Row 6 & 7.

Hmmmmmm. To be honest I tend to only take a window seat to avoid being bothered by the person in the window seat climbing over me.

As I'm not planning on sleeping on these flights, however, I've taken the aisle to stop the window creating that awful glare on the IFE.

That photo helps though, much appreciated.

Hi Wozza,

We always book Row 7 (A,B / J,K) - best seats on a 77W apart from F IMHO... no problems with the 'glare' as you can incrementally shade the windows electronically.

Cheers ツ

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ appalling grammar, but you'll get my drift.

Agreed. I never like row 6 because I dont like the wall mounted screens. And the screens that are in the centre unit are flimsy. Row 7 is perfect - either side. Doesnt bother me re the lack of window...

Fair enough. I'll stick with row 7 then. Cheers!
