India-based Airlines - Need info on Air India "companion travels free"

New to these forums.

Bought AI 2 Business tickets from YYZ to BLR for myself and my wife last week.

Was looking through AI website and saw the "Companion files free" page which seems to say that I did not have to pay full fare for my wife
Does anyone have information on this??

Also flying from DEL to BLR on an AI plane - Does the luggage go all the way to BLR or do I have to pick it up in DEL and clear customs in DEL??

i may be wrong but i believe this scheme is only valid if your journey starts in india....

also, you will almost always find buying two business class tickets at the normal rate a lot cheaper that buying a full fare business ticket & paying taxes for the free ticket....

you will have to call a ta or ai to get the price for the full fare business ticket & what the taxes would be for the second ticket....

You will have to go through immigration and customs at DEL, and then proceed to the transfer desk.

I arrive in Delhi at 11.40am and leave for BLR on AI 502 at 1.10pm - is 1hr and 30 minutes enough time to get the luggage and go through immigration and customs?

As a Business class ticket holder are there any faster lanes we can take to speed up this process?

Yes, it is enough time if the flight is on time. If you are getting delayed, pull over the nearest AI employee and ask for help to make your connection. They usually are happy to oblige.

A search of the forum was not helpful. In India it seem personal current experience is most valuable.

I had hoped that our luggage is checked all the way to BLR and that is where I do customs and immigration.

Checking flightaware the flight is likely to be not more than 15 late at present and I hope that this holds true in December at christmas time.
