Virgin Atlantic Flying Club - Will I loose my reward ?

Hi folks.

Looking for some advice. Have just made a redemption, MBNA AmEx Black economy -> premium economy upgrade.

I now have my e-ticket.

Question is, if I cancel the card will i forfeit the reward? Don't fancy paying another year card fee. Can't find anything on the terms and conditions.

ive no experience of this actual event BUT im sure you will be fine, you have already earnt the reward so if you choose to cancel the card after having used it i cant see any problem

Don't know for sure, but I wouldn't have thought so.
The upgrade voucher is a reward for past spending and is added to your account at the anniversary of your first year with qualifying spend IIRC.
Your current spending habits and card holding shouldn't have any bearing.

Unless, of course, they have buried some get-out deep in the T&C.

Have VS confirmed your upgrade on the e-ticket?

Yeah the ticket is confirmed and payment for taxes taken. Think I might call FC and ask to make doubly sure as the BA AmEx companion ticket t&c imply you must still have your card at time of travel !!

Mightily unimpressed by the unavailability of the seatmap however !!

FC have advised that I must still hold my VAA AmEx at time of travel for me to be eligible for the reward. Oh well, another years membership !!

Did they evidence this with any reference to the T&C, or was it just the opinion of the person you spoke to?
