Africa - Virunga National Park - Democratic Republic of Congo

Has anyone been to Virunga National Park?

I think it looks like a very well run reserve, with a new lodge and improved shelters (seems to be well funded by the EU).

I've been to the contiguous parks in Uganda and Rwanda, but the security situation in DRC scared me off. I can report the U&R sides are fantastic.

I've also been to the Rwandan and Ugandan areas and crossed into Goma, DRC but only spent a few hours in Goma - it was very unstable and not a good place to linger (2005).
