JAL Mileage Bank - SFO-HND JAL Executive Class vs. SFO-NRT United Business

Has anybody who has flown JAL's Executive Class SFO-HND and United's Business SFO-NRT comment on the differences? Which would you recommend I fly in May?

Any comments about JAL's service on that route would be helpful.

Never taken UA business class but why don't you consider NH's SFO-NRT service? They have the latest staggered seats on that route and service is much better than UA

Yeah, NH is probably best.

JL doesn't have flat-bed business class seats, whereas NH and UA both do. On the other hand, the JL flight arrives late at night while the NH and UA flights arrive in the late afternoon. This frees up more of your departure day in SFO, and I have heard people claim that the JL flight results in the least jet lag if you can't sleep on the plane. HND is closer to downtown Tokyo as well.

UA's service is atrocious so I would consider them only as a last resort.

NH would be the best choice.

If fully-flat is important, take the UA 747 or take a risk on the 777.

Between JL/UA, if you don't mind JL's angled seat the service would beat UA easily.
