Spain/Portugal/Gibraltar - Barcelona

Hi guys...

some of you may have read allready my posting regarding a stay in Malta over my birthday. Plans are changing and I think I'll take my award ticket to BCN over the weekend.

Due to my A-Club or Le Club AccorHotels I'd prefer the Pullman Skipper there or maybe a nice Hilton if there is some located near the seaside. Any has stayed there?

There is a nice Hilton by the sea in Barcelona. It's called the Hilton Diagonal Mar. But it's not near the center of town; it'll take a 5-7 minute walk and a 15-20 minute Metro ride to get to the center.

The hotel is nice -- I was there last June -- with views of the Med from the upper floors. About 3 blocks from the beach (but I have no reviews of the beach since all I did was look at it from the hotel).

Nice hotel, less than 10 years old. If its a free stay its worth it!

@walttom: thx for your feedback - I've found that one yesterday I thinking about to give it a try. The pricing is quite good - compared to the Pulman Skipper ...

if you want to go to the beach, go to the beach. if you want to go on a cruise, go on a crusies. you seen one, you seen them all.

now, bcn is a different thing. stay in or around old town, and see bcn and eat in bcn and party in bcn. it is a very unique and special experience.
