Thai Airways Royal Orchid Plus - New 777 or refurbished business cabin?

Hi folks!

Forgive me if this has already been discussed.

Just booked a BKK-SIN flight on a "773" but the seat map does not correspond to any that is available on seatguru.

Is this a new aircraft or refurbished cabin? Reminds me of the new(ish) Swiss business config.

But the seat map is certainly interesting! When is this flight? I'm guessing this is TGs own (not ex Jet Airways) 77W?

Sure...the A380 is operating HKG and possibly others before long haul.

This is probably THAI's very own 77W that they have on order. Biz seats will be the same as on the upcoming A380 (staggered, similar to EK). Yes, they will use new aircrafts on short haul routes (both domestic and intl, ie SIN, HKG), to familiarize the crew with the aircraft and also in between intl long haul flights.

The seat map is clearly the new 77W that TG will take delivery this year. TG often uses SIN flights as familiarization flights for the cabin crew.

This is interesting, I will be boarding the SG- BKK flight tomorrow afternoon(also on a 777) and will see if these staggered seats are already in place.. :D

My booking for Jan 2013 also shows the same layout.

Try make new booking on TG web site. And make seat selection in the process of booking.

I recently booked SIN-BKK (bmi redemption) and could not work out which particular 773 aircraft this was. I pre-assigned my seats on lufthansa.com which is showing the above layout. The toilets are in an odd location, no?

Are u aware of the fact that this is still Thai und does not necessarily mean u r gonna get the aircraft u booked :D ?
