I checked out the most recent 20th anniversary competition for 160,000 points to Beijing (I'm a sucker for these) at: http://eurobonus20.flysas.com/

I have some questions.

1. I get an echo in the narration when I play it (happened with the first two as well) - is that just me?

2. What's the destination this time? The first two were obvious, but the only clue I see this time is a football, colored napkins and some sort of silly dance. The football makes me think of the World or European cup but the colors don't match the flags of Brazil, Poland or the Ukraine.

3. Why do they ask participants to tell why they deserve to win? Is that what determines the winner or is it a random draw? They don't publish the winners' text so there is no clue for why they are asking this.

1. No, I get the echo too.

2. ?

3. To get the contest classified as a competition instead of a lottery, which (at least in Sweden) has tax consequences - mainly that the winner is responsible for paying taxes on competition prizes, while the organizer has to pay taxes for lotteries.

Damn, I actually spent some time trying to come up with some witty text in the first two competitions. I guess that's one of the drawbacks of SK being based in three countries. I live in Norway, but have to pay a 30 NOK service charge when booking online because of a Danish court decision and write text in a competition to satisfy Swedish lottery law (in Norway, the winner is not taxed on lotteries or these types of competitions).

Edit: Upon further reflection: Shouldn't the naming of the country be enough to satisfy the competition requirement for Swedish law? The text requirement seems to be unnecessary.

Football and green-white-red colors? I didn't hesitate, but maybe I was wrong... :D

3: In Sweden, to arrange a lottery (=game of chance) you need permission from Lotteriinspektionen, and those permissions are hardly ever granted except when organized by non-profit organizations. You don't need permission to arrange a competition (=game of skill), however.

I'm still stumped. Only country I can think of that has a flag with green-white-red colors and is good in football is Italy. But they aren't having a major tournament and football isn't a defining Italian icon.

Edit, added April 18: Just saw they closed the "competition" before the April 19 deadline. Italy was the answer - pretty lame clue IMO

OK, then unless the writing of the text is a ruse to get around Swedish law, SK would actually have to read all the texts submitted that correctly identify the destination and have a panel choose the winning text of the competition. If so, shouldn't they inform participants who is on the panel and publish the winning texts?
