I will be in Paris with a group of friends on May 6, which I believe is the date of the second round of the French presidential election. Does anyone know if any of the major Paris attractions or government museums will be closed that day? Thanks in advance.

I was there for the elections in 2007. From memory there were no extra closures, however we were treated to a riot along our street late in the evening (we were midway between the Bastille and Concorde), so it might be wise to think about where you go for dinner that evening! A few small fires, rubbish bins overturned and cars given a bit of a bounce, alarming but not too dangerous and a wonderful story to bring back home.
