Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer - Help Needed - Spacing Error on name

Hi~ I'm new to this forum, hope you can help with my problem below :)

I've book a flight for 2 to Sydney via SQ...
While doing online booking, I ensured all particulars were right, esp the names!

If my name in passport is : Lim Jia Min, Jasmine (example)
First name should be place : Jia Min Jasmine (no commas allow in booking)
Last Name: Lim

However, whenever I go back to "manage my booking" in SQ website, it appears as:
First Name: Jia Minjasmine

E-Ticket, no issue as it appears as : JIAMINJASMINE TAN (from what SQ says e-ticket no spacing between 1st name)

I've tried calling SQ, but the reservation hotline was transferred to someone in India I guess, and no matter how hard I tried to explain, she just can't understand me !!!
I e-mailed Singapore Airlines and she said the name on their electronic tickets match their travel documents such passports. Hence, spacing is not an issue.

So now, check in is no issue, how abt immigration?!?!

p/s. sorry for my long post....

If you want to contact the SIN based contact centre, try using the mandarin option. Chances are they will speak English. Anyways like SQ325 said, there should be no problem.

In all of my tickets, with my name:

Appears in passport as: SURNAME FIRST MIDDLE
Appears in ticket as: SURNAME/FIRSTMIDDLEMR
Appears on boarding pass as: SURNAME/FIRSTMIDDLEMR

Never ever had a problem, even in US. I can only imagine it being a problem if it said SURNAME/FIRSTMIDDLEMS !

According to passport my wife is a Marie Miller Tan Ng Lim (example) so plenty of options. Nowadays I book her either as Marie Miller or Marie Miller Tan it comes out to MILLER MARIEMRS or as MILLERTAN MARIEMRS
Earlier it came out as MILLERTANNGLIM MARIEMRS but no problem at check in. Its just SQs reservation system, no need to worry.

Do not be too sure that alls well if you are checking in at Singapore airport. I was charged S$100 to have my name changed on my boarding pass. My story:

When I made my Online booking at a US-based website, I entered, as prompted, my name First Middle Family accordingly.

The boarding pass printout showed my name as First Middle Family - fine, I thought.

But the Supervisor at Changi Airport told me my name must be exactly as shown in my passport: Family Middle First. He claimed that it was a Singapore Immigration requirement but declined my request to speak with an Immigration Officer.

He refused to let me leave the check-in counter until I paid the S$100.

So...my new boarding pass had my name as Middle First Family. "But that's not exactly as shown in my passport" I said. He ignored me, and walked away.

Recap:
Online booking: First Middle Family
Boarding Pass: First Middle Family
Passport: Family Middle First
$100 Boarding Pass: Middle First Family

....

Immigration is not determined based on your airline reservation. Entry to whatever country you're flying to is based on your PASSPORT! As long as that is in your possession with a face matching the person holding the passport, you will have no problem.

Just to add again, the computer reservation systems do not space names. So everything will just lump together. It is normal.

thanks for your reply...
e-ticket does not space out the names, so it's fine.
it's just that every time i log in to SQ website to manage my booking, my name looks so weird. " Ms Jia Minjasmine Tan". And if they were to charge me S$100, it might be kinda unfair for me...

I was flying for a few years with Lastname being my first name and First name being my last name. It was a mix-up caused by Krisflyer registration mix-up, so all bookings made via SQ website were "wrong". I tried to fix it twice with SQ but they somehow they werent able to ( they always told me now its okay). But I never had any problem with it at check-in, only once in FRA they told me that its wrong and changed it at no cost.
But tickets booked somewhere else couldnt be credited to Krisflyer, in the End I applied for a new card.

As long as your surname is Tan, you're fine.
If you're crediting your flight to your frequent flyer account, it will match the surname first . If that is correct, there should not be a problem.

If you're not bothered on miles, then you are set to go.

Recent experience:

Booked my wife as MILLER MARIEMRS and checked in online. Went to check-in. SQ reissued boarding pass at check-in as TANNGLIM MS. Why? I dont know and i dont care.

You might have problems if your wife's FFP is registered as MILLER and her BP is TAN.

There are also other possible problems.

During my last holiday to Australia, I was doing online checkin for my family and it kept rejecting my daughter's check in. I thought it was some IT issue and so didn't really bother and was sure it will all be fixed at the airport.

At the checkin counter, the staff was at the system for awhile and was again having issues with checking my daughter in. It seems that the system kept reflecting that my daughter did not have a valid ETA for Australia, while I had a printout that proved that she did.

Anyway, the problem was as follows:
Name as in passport: Tan Ah Hua, Emily (eg)
Name in ETA: Tan Ah Hua, Emily
Name in e-ticket: Tan Emilyahhua

ETA & e-ticket names did not match, so the computer system, so the computer say cannot check in... :p Thankfully, the lady was resourceful enough to somehow work this out and fix it.

So, yeah, it sometimes does matter how your name is printed in your e-ticket... :p

It appears that "Ah Hua" was loaded in the booking system as a middle name not part of the surname resulting in the format of the name on the e-ticket.
