Hi,

I'd like to take a long weekend (Thurs-Sunday) in early May and was looking at the Caribbean for a quick getaway with my girlfriend.

I've been browsing SXM, STT, EIS and a few others but given the choice am not really sure where to start. I'm more looking for something quiet / secluded rather than action packed and these (http://www.seagrapecottage.net/) two (http://www.jetsetter.com/hotels/british-virgin-islands/tortola-island/1294/peter-island-resort-and-spa?checkin=20120510&checkout=20120513&numRooms=1&numAdults=2%3Fnm%3Dserp-thin&cl=2&ca=view-more) caught my eye, but I really know nothing about the region and would love to get some advice.

Thanks in advance,

Jmaes

+1 - We've been to St. John 17 times now and still love it. Going for 9 nights in July. You fly in STT and take a ferry over to St. John. Great snorkeling and good trails to hike. I'm not sure what you want to do but it is a great island.

Don't know what your budget is, but certainly consider Anguilla. Peaceful, quiet, and wonderful restaurants.

Hello,

Given that you are talking about a long weekend, you might want to factor in the "ease" of access to your location (e.g., can you get there flying direct -- do you need to take a ferry, etc). I assume you are flying down from Boston. There are some lovely places in the Caribbean that will allow you to be "feet on the sand" more quickly than the options you linked to in your post.

Anguilla fits the bill.
