Which is better?

What's the difference between these two?

[styal lounge is the servisair one]

Styal is *significantly* bigger.
The Escape can fill up very easily, but they then turn people away so it shouldn't become absolute sardines.

Both have free wifi, escape is marginally easier to connect to, but servisair wifi is not that annoying, just a longer login form first time you use it.

Havn't been in Styal in true breakfast time so don't know what they have then, but rest of day is crisps, prewrapped cake, nuts, biscuits packets, etc.

At breakfast in escape there is toast IIRC. But styal might have that as well, not been there at breakfast time.

Otherwise, much of a much ness.
No real difference, they are right next door to each other, and back onto each other. No appron/runway views at either.

but escape if prebooked wouldn't be turned away right?

I'd assume you would not be turned away if you have prebooked indicating a certain time slot. But you would need to check the T&C of what ever scheme/company you are booking it through.

I'd assume if someone was prebooked, they could expect to (a) get in, (b) have a seat. etc.

I've certainly been in styal as well when it has been down to perhaps 4 spare seats, so even though it is bigger it can fill up.

If you like, tell me what you are 'looking for' from the lounge and how much are being charged, I'll happily give you 'would I say it's worth it' assessment!

[All my entires have been PriorityPass (and/or airline guest), so I've never paid for it or booked it.]

Free wifi.
Basic drinks.
Basic prepackaged snacks.
[Toast+Cereal at breakfast in escape, don't know about styal breakfast could be better or worse.]

Both (if I recall correclty, certainly styal) have a reasonable number of accessible UK 3-pin power sockets around the walls, so you don't need to unplug lamps to charge things. [Which is something I have had to do at other lounges!..]

Basic padded armchairs and coffee tables.

Are there any other lounges at T1?

I'm travelling next Friday with my wife. Our flight is at 13:30 and we would like to arrive early and find a quiet lounge to have lunch in.

Many Thanks
Andy

Are there any other lounges at T1?

Note: The Styal and the Escape that we were talking about above were in T2.

I can't remember any of the T1 lounges, I might well have not been in them.

In T1 for paid/prioritypass/etc entry I think the options were the
- Bollin,
- Wilmslow, or
- Escape (T2)
lounges.

The first two were both Servisair I believe, however, I think the Wilmslow is currently closed becuase it is in the middle of being upgraded to the Servisairs new 'Aspire' brand and standard of lounge. (When it reopens, Bollin will probably close I would guess).

The opening date for the new Aspire (which I *think* is where the closed Wilmslow was) is 'early April' I understand.

If the new Asprie one does open this week, then that is the one I would go for.

In T2, which we were discussing above on this thread originally, I would personally have said - if you want lunch (not just some crips and biscuits etc) then go to a restraunt in the terminal!
Certainly, if paying for entry, I would do that.

The Escape lounges have better food - free butties during the day. Alcohol is served from the bar, not free pour. (Not T3, ex bmi).

Escape lounges have a menu of additional items for a price.

T1 Servisair have a great view of the ramp - T1 Escape is a windowless box.

Really can't recall the T2 offerings - I don't think either have a decent view of the airport.

With my PP card I normally choose base on iof I want to eat a little, or look at the pretty planes. And if I can get a reasonable seat.

As lounges go based on whats on offer in many other countries, these lounges are pretty basic and low standard

Care to give specifics? Whilst not the Virgin Clubhouse, or the BA First in LHR, I think the ones in T1 stack up pretty well against any other contract lounge. Certainly no worse than many US Airline Lounges.
