Oceania (Australia, New Zealand & the South Pacific) - Recommendations for an Afternoon in Nadi
We arrive in Nadi at 2 pm on a Friday and have a 7 am flight out the next morning to Taveuni. Figured we'd take a cab into town and explore for the afternoon. Any recommendations for things we should do that afternoon/evening or a good place to eat (first time in Fiji - no food restrictions).
Thanks.

Well, I was last in Nadi town a couple weeks ago... and it was hit pretty hard by the flooding. I am not quite sure as to the status right now, but the resorts on Denarau were still intact last I checked.
The resorts there had good food (I stayed at the Sheraton but am sure all in the area have good food).
The best meal I had on the island was a 2 hour drive away from Nadi at Uprising Resort in Pacific Harbour. It was a dinner special "Chili rubbed snapper slow pan-fried with citrus glaze, kumak fried wedges (sweet potatoe fries), and pan-fried veggies"
Else I would peruse a website such as tripadvisor and see what's good there.

We enjoyed the bar, pool and curried chicken at Raffles across the street from the airport. Also, got a dayroom and was able to shower, freshen up and take a nap before midnight flight.

Not really anything worth doing in Nadi town itself, unless you want to go to the temple (at the far end of the main street). I'd probably just take the time to chill out.
There's a new bar called the Ice Bar on the road from the airport which looks quite alright from the outside, if that's your kind of thing.
