Travel Products - Briggs & Riley BRX 20" wide vs. Eagle Creek ES3 Tarmac 20" wide

We are travelling to Italy, "carry on" the whole way, flights and trains. We have moved away from the 21"-22" "carry ons" as we want something that fits "wheels first." I would appreciate input re: the B&R BRX 20" vs the EC Tarmac 20." I want to keep the price at $300 or below. Suggestions on comparable other brands would be most welcomed.
