What inventory do QR flights book into when using free awards for F, C, and Y. I understand that they can't be seen "publicly"? Trying to locate 1 seat from any US port to DOH to SIN, departing on 7May12.

Could anyone be so nice as to check whether there's any availability on EZE-GRU-DOH on April 27th or 28th in C? (I think there's no F?) One-way, single person. I already lost time with UA agents who had no idea about the partnership, so I would like to know whether there's anything before I start calling again in vain.

I have a couple of questions about booking QR award using UA miles. Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but all I could find on UA forum was that it is possible to mix QR in a *A award if you are willing to spend a few hours on the phone (UA's CS line is swamped with all the system integration issues and not all agents know that QR is a partner), which I'm not unless I know at least there is some possibility that I can get the flights I want.

So my questions are:

Do partner awards book into the same inventory as using QR miles?
If so, is there any way to know the inventory without calling? More specifically I'm looking at F award on HKG-DOH-LHR leaving on Nov 9 (ideally QR817 and 005), or LHR-DOH-HKG leaving on Nov 8 (QR018/006 and 812).

Thanks for help! LHR-DOH-HKG-8 Nov the only F available is QR006 and then you would be placed on QR816 in C. However the waiting times at Doha is 12 hours. You better off taking C on QR002/QR816. QR002 departs LHR at 20.30 and arrives in HKG at 20.25 the next day. Waiting time at Doha is 1 hour 40 min. On the 9 Nov HKG-DOH-HKG only Y available.

In relation to the other questions maybe Alex has the answer, but off the cuff I believe it is phone based when using your UA miles for QR flights.

Go for the B777 300ER, real lie-flat and alot of space, just perfect C class, A330 200/300 have angled seats (165 degrees) and less space.

I would like to use an UA award for a QR flight from North America, but not finding any seats for F or C. I am looking for an outbound of 23 of Nov and a return on 2 of Dec. No luck.. only showing UA metal.

Second isssue is that all of the UA agents I spoke to today have no idea about QR flights and it is not showing in the UA system for them. Shows on-line, but not for agents.

I called UA two days before QR awards became bookable on united.com and luckily got an agent who was at least willing to see if QR flights can be booked, and eventually she found that it's indeed possible. I asked if F is available and she said she can do QR018/816 which requires 14 hours+ layover in DOH... I thought that an overnight in DOH may not be too bad after all in exchange for F (never been there), so agreed with that combination.

The availability looks slightly different from what lightyear40 was seeing but I'm not sure what this implies.

SEA777GUY, I did a quick search and looks like at least IAD-DOH-IAD/IAH is available in C on those dates. AFAIK, US-DOH flights don't have F cabin.

Anyone know how many days out you can book QR inventory with UA miles on UA's website? Looking at South Asia for next summer.
