Diners Club Club Rewards - Rental car coverage benefit just for US cards?

Hi everybody.

Is the primary rental car coverage provided by Diners Club in the USA specific to US-issued Diners Club cards, or do overseas Diners Club cards attract this benefit?

(All of us overseas types who have to go to the USA every-so-often and need to rent a car usually get stabbed for car insurance by the rental agency, and I'm looking to see if there is a more inexpensive alternative)

Diners Club is a franchise system, there is little uniformity of benefits or rewards across markets. Diners Club Australia insurance coverage is described here:

There are also 3rd party rental car insurance policies you can buy, brokers mostly operating out of the UK/Ireland for anyone to buy. Google search "car hire insurance".
