Turkish Airlines Miles&Smiles - Move between Arrivals/Departures?

I have an eight hour transit at IST. I would like to get my boarding pass at the transit desk, then go up airside to the Departures level, use the lounge to shower, come back down to the Arrivals level, and then exit through immigration and go in to town for dinner. Is it possible at IST to go up to Departures and then come back down to Arrivals?

No problem in accessing the departure level with a onward BP and then returning to the arrivals level using the stairs/lift next to Burger King in the food court. I haven't done this since the introduction of the new security arrangements but doubt there is any change.

I've done it twice since new security arrangements and it works like a charm.
They only check that you have an onward BP when you go back to arrivals level.
