Hi All,
New to the forum, looking for some help.
I have been looking to book flights from LHR to LAX for late September of this year. Up until today the prices for Virgin Atlantic have been steady at around £500-£520. I checked again today and the prices have shot way up to £740.
Any ideas why the sudden massive increase? Is there a chance the prices will drop back down again?
Or should I start looking at other airlines? The main reason I have been looking at Virgin is I am a Flying Club member and have always travelled with them.
Any help is much appreciated!

Sale may have ended, those cheaper fares may have simply sold out, Virgin decided to increase the price because they could..any number of reasons really!
Welcome - there is a dedicated Virgin Atlantic forum on the site. I'm sure the mods will move this there for you in due course.
(Check Air New Zealand who also fly LHR - LAX. If I recall correctly, you can earn some miles on Flying Club on their flights, if the booking class is eligible. However, many of Air NZ's cheaper fares don't earn)

Try a miles plus money fare from Virgin. I think it is about 2000 miles needed, but the cash amount can be less than the cash only fare.

I think there has been a sale that has just ended hence the increase.
Yes prices COULD drop but don't hold your breath - why offer a discount on a particular date when people will pay the full rate??

These are a disgrace they are dirty and not worth the money surely they should charge less even the movie system is antiquated

All being rectified this year. Brand new IFE and complete refurbishment.

In this case the OP wants > LAX ; whuch flys out of LHR only.
I have been watching Y prices to LAX in Sept also, on BA; it has been around £550 since Jan although is now around the £700 figure. I am waiting on the June sale which typically happens, perhaps VS will match on pricing.
