Bought a AZ ticket , LHR – SYD through FCO and MXP , from here, AZ operates with EY to SYD.
I have both AZ and EY lounges access as per my Gold Status, I walked into the Lounge that Alitalia uses for their flights and was asked to leave the lounge because there is no lounge agreement between the two airlines.
Speechless because my itineray was all AZ and two months before I accessed the same lounge with no problems with the same kind of Ticket.
I think that AZ has to honor and pay ( the lounge is managed by MXP Airport SEA it is not a AZ property ) for the access of their FF that made the choice to buy a ticket throught them rather than spend less and buy cheaper the same route through Etihad.
There is no point of being loyal if you are dropped like that in one the home hubs.
Also SkyPriority lane in FCO Transit from LHR does not exist!

Ciao,

I flew MXP-AUH on EY, buying my ticket with AZ, and had no trouble at all entering the lounge in MXP. And was flying Y.

EY isn't Skyteam, but you had technically a ST ticket. For AZ FrecciaAlata passengers, the AZ website states for access to "other lounges" (non AZ or ST): "With boarding card for Alitalia flights. Guest: 1" It's unclear if your AZ boarding card had to be for a MXP AZ departing flight. You had an AZ boarding card for an MZP AZ arriving flight. With that grey area, the lounge dragon decided boot you.

AZ needs more clarity on this.

Curiously as you are an EY Gold, the EY website only mentions lounge access for Golds in regards to AUH and is silent about all other airports.

Ciao,
Yeah lot depends on the Staff you find in the lounge. Customer Service on the phone, still says that I am entitled all the CFA benefits.
walked away and had access to EY lounge which is probably better ;)

I didn't have AZ Boarding Card bc Alitalia wasn't able to print it, actually the GS in London ignored that there was an agreement between AZ and EY too!
was coming with a AZ flight.
EY shares a Lounge with other Airlines in MXP which is pretty good and in my experience there is always a lounge access with EY in other airports like SYD- LHR.
However, i had a 10 hrs layover in AUH and EY only accepted me for 6 hours in the lounge and then i was kicked out which was unbelievable! Spoke to the Manager on Duty and she gave me the most stupid excuses! ( i am going to post this as well in another section )
