The FAQ (https://www.ccrgservices.com/web/AvisFirst/faq.jsp) for the Avis First program mentions specifically:

As an Avis First member, you can earn a maximum of eight (8) weekend rental rewards in a calendar year.

I can see this on my Avis First account at avisfirst.com by looking under "Rental Activity" section, where the "Reason" column says:

RECEIVED MAXIMUM AWARDS ALLOWED FOR CANADA

While I see this notation for most of my rentals at the end of 2011, I noticed that it appears on two rentals for the beginning of 2012 as well. I was under the impression that everything resets on January 1, 2012.

Furthermore, I'm now seeing this under the "Reason" column for my most recent rentals in February and March of this year:

RENTAL ALREADY PROCESSED FOR EITHR DF/AF

Has anyone else seen this? I'm trying to figure out what "DF" or "AF" mean, but have had no luck. None of my rentals this year have been marked as "qualifying" rentals for the free weekend coupons.

I'll be contacting the Avis First folks to get this sorted out shortly, but I thought it worthwhile to mention it here on FT, to see if anyone else is experiencing something similar, what it means, and if anyone has solved it (with Avis directly or otherwise.)

Do you get the Free to Get Away days from the promotion? It's the ones you get after every two rentals of at least two days. If you get those, I think you won't be able to get the weekend certificates. You can only get one or the other. The DF might be from the Drive Free promotion.

I agree with the above post... Probably means you get credit for Drive Free OR Avis First. But their wording/language could be better.

This makes sense. I've since learned that "AF" means "Avis First", so clearly I must be getting credits towards Drive Free ("DF") for these rentals since they're not marked as qualifying on the Avis First website.

I haven't received any email messages with any DF coupon codes/certs, though (I double-checked my "Spam" folder as well.) I've fired off an email to Avis, so we'll see what they come back with.

Has anyone else had problems receiving their DF codes?

I think 95% of us have had to take some form of action in contacting Avis to receive our Awards. Be it an email or phone call. Shortly after my first phone call to Avis CS I got an email with three coupon codes in it.

I started a thread a while ago... I had to email them to get my codes... Just like last year.

+1 I never received the voucher for my free weekend when I became Avis First and I've called about it a few times, still nothing. I rent from Avis every week and the car selection I receive is great but customer service is just terrible.
