I often shop at their stores in ATH so I am glad to be able to earn miles now. Every little helps as they say ^

This sounds like a good way to burn orphan miles, although it does require that someone be in, for example, the ATH airport, presumably on an outbound international flight.

I was guessing possibly other airports in Greece, but how does one buy duty free when traveling domestic?

"Domestic" in EU terms means intra-EU, independent of whether you cross a real border or not. And for any domestic flight there is absolutely NO duty-free allowance. On the other hand, when this rule went into effect a few years ago, all duty free shops in EU airports decided to nevertheless sell stuff to absolutely everybody. The difference, though, is that when you take an intra-EU flight you pay the full price, while if you take a flight between an EU and a non-EU country, you save the VAT (well, al least in many stores they deduct it when you go to pay upon showing your boarding card). In actual terms, this means that duty-free stores are often as expensive, or even more expensive that stores outside airports. Nevertheless, as far as the Hellenic Duty Frees Shops are concerned, their intra-EU prices are often lower than what you pay in normal stores in Greece, at least for tobacco, liquor and cosmetics. Personally, I only buy liquor there, and I'd suggest you do the same next time you connect in ATH to an island!

They also do some decent discounts on confectionery and Greek products. I often buy things from there .

This may be a silly question, but - do these (and other non-flight miles) count towards BLUE/GOLD?
