Turkish Airlines Miles&Smiles - Using *A miles, UA MP, to upgrade from CC to J

I'm hoping that the various experts in the TK forum can help me as no one seems to know on the UA forum.
I'm wondering if it's possible to use UA miles to upgrade a Comfort Class ticket to J, JFK-IST in June.
If it is possible, how often does TK release availability for this? What fare class should I be looking out for?
Thanks
Also, does TK do a buy up program? Like UA, or others, where you purchase E or E+ and then get offered a J seat for a smaller buy up fee?

Any chance anyone has had any experience with this? With any other *A members miles?
Thanks

Why don't you call your FFP and ask? North-American destinations are the hardest routes to get awards. Im certain that adding a UA FFP + TK CC + Star Alliance award is an interesting combination to stir up conversation when dealing with TK! They have problems to issue different awards even if it only includes their own published awards and benefits.

Have you had any luck? I've booked an unrestricted Comfort Class O fare IST-LAX and would like to try to use my Dividend Miles (US) to upgrade, but doesn't know any of the TK Comfort Class fare codes. Needless to say, I've been striking out.

No Luck yet, I've been trying to get hold of the right person either at UA or TK who has the expertise to be able to answer this... Did you, goliathkills, have any luck with US or TK?

No and I have just about given up. TK say to talk to US, and US say the rules are the rules with regards to fare codes.

Comfort Class (U, A or O) is not listed under available classes as exceptions for upgrades. http://www.united.com/web/en-US/content/mileageplus/awards/upgrade/saua.aspx
However, other *A carriers like SK have them for their *A upgrades. I don't know if it's TK's or UA's fault. Last year I flew TK A class and UA treated it as First Class for mileage.
I was also looking to book a RTW in economy (15% off until May 29) and use upgrade instruments for longhaul legs (UA or LH) or fly premium economy. Many other airlines like SK and NZ allow booking premium economy with a $500 surcharge, but not TK. Annoying.
Life would be easier if TK integrated Comfort Class with full fare economy, i.e Y and B. SK and ANA do this, although they also have S and E, respectively, as additional premium eco classes.
Anyone know how many TK miles are required to upgrade from CC to Business?
Thanks
