SAS EuroBonus - Eurobonus members - where do you live?

I get a feeling that a majority of the readers of the Eurobonus members are located in Scandinavia, but lets find out by starting a poll.

Where do you live (or where are you located if you are living abroad on short time basis)?

As a bonus - if you are located far from the hubs of CPH, ARN and OSL - what made you choose Eurobonus?

Moved from Austria to Sweden last year, but flying out of CPH more often than not (MMX-ARN is the only domestic leg so far).

Why Eurobonus...(even though I am close to a hub)
(1) deterioration of M&M made pushing for SEN less attactive
(2) Recent changes (50,000 to *G, 100% earnings) have actually enhanced EB
(3) My flight schedule has dictated almost all SK flights
(4) No YQ on awards

Why Eurobonus:
- subsidises the regular private travel to the nordics
- no YQ
- something to put miles into during the off year in M&M

Us "foreign guys" should probably denote if we are married/sambo to a Scandinavian. Isn't it really them that drive us to fly SK:p:D?

I'm from Finland. I fly SK mostly as I travel a lot within Scandinavia, and SK simply is the only airline that offers decent schedules to most of my destinations. DY is becoming a competitor, but so far their schedules aren't the best. AY just can't compete in price and doesn't fly to some of my destinations.

I'm married to a Finn, so 'Nordic' please ;) That fact drove me to FT in 2002 because I needed to manage my long distance relationship and associated travel expense. :D

I'm an American with family and some other ties in Sweden (and Norway) such that I might as well be considered a resident of Sweden by some.

I mostly fly to/from ARN and CPH when it comes to my Scandinavian travel picture. And most of my intra-Scandinavia trips are between ARN, CPH and OSL. I usually toss in a few trips to places on Norway's west coast (when I can) during the better part of the year. Next month, off to AES.

I'm not a big fan of SK for intra-European travel but have to use them some anyway. I do use SK for some long-haul flights, but they are generally not my preferred carrier for such either.

I expect that there are more Swedish persons using CPH than there are Danish persons using ARN/BMA and would expect that if a poll was conducted about which Scandinavian airport you consider your primary "home"/"host" area airport, Denmark's CPH would poll even higher than it already has.

..... the other solution is for people in Skane to recognize that Skane is Swedish-Occupied Denmark and answer "Denmark" for purpose of this poll. :D

Well, my handle should give you clues. =) Why SAS and EB? They used to be and somewhat are again trying to challenge Finnair on their homemarket. I usually go for the underdog, as competition keeps the scene alive and affordable. EB used to be a great program and luckily it´s starting to look like they´re intrested in leisure travellers´ money again, with the current changes.

Of course, the only international hub for southern Sweden is CPH. There are also lots of Swedes from Goteborg flying out from CPH too.

ARN is a hour away by plane from Denmark, so of course they don't use that as their hub.

We also live in Skane and we use CPH as our hub (not that I like it very much).

My husband is a Dane, and we move to Sweden for cheaper house and car, and a better shopping facitilities.

I think a lot of Swedes here in Skane thinks that Copenhagen is a great city - it's 1 hour away vs 7 hours away to Stockholm and you can shop for cheap alcohol everywhere. Some Swedes we met was wondering why we even moved away from Copenhagen ands some said that if they have the $ they will move there.

Some studies showing that more and more young Swedes try to learn Danish as their foreign language (not sure it's just because it's easier for them to learn Danish than German).

Japan.

Main reasons:
SAS offers the most direct route to Scandinavia together with Finnair.
SAS offers affordable business (through OT or points upgrades).
Habit.

Why EB? Old habit and lot's of EB points, but EB is my second choice nowadays.

Funny enough I do the it the other way around. Putting points to M&M when EB is secured. But considering to do a change to prioritize M&M but my flight pattern with SK make this a "bad business" for the time being. So the pattern of travel have decided that EB is the best spot. This is even better from May 4th when they change the earning to 100% in all economy as our travel policy dictate M travels intra-EU.
