Qatar Airways Privilege Club - Indonesian earthquake

Sitting in Golden Lounge at KUL and felt a small shake. Everybody now gathered around the t.v. People seem pretty cool. The big problems are Aceh and vicinity. Tsunami warnings for entire Indian Ocean. Waiting for my flight to DOH which originates in Phuket. If anything breaks here I'll post ASAP. Thoughts turn to those most effected. Apparently people are heading to higher ground near the epicenter ( directly west of K.L. but considerable distance away). Anyone closer to the quake?

Yea, pretty big quake, but thankfully epicentre further off coast than 2004 quake, and quite deep. Must be weird feeling it all that distance away.

Thankfully all seems to be ok now, as according to PTWC, it would have hit Banda Aceh an hour ago if a tsunami had been formed.

I don't see what this topic has to do with Qatar Airways, but the quake was also felt in Sri Lanka.

My QR flight KUL-DOH originated in Phuket which was under tsunami warning. In fact it apparently left there early as a precaution.
