EL AL Matmid - Is security stricter on LY (domestic) flights?

Without discussing Israeli security procedures in too much detail, I was wondering whether anyone could provide some advice (either here or via PM):

I´ve travelled to Israel a few times and usually got a number 2 or 3 security sticker at TLV which seems like the standard treatment for a non-Jewish, reasonably young, male, white Canadian with no Arab stamps in my passport.

Overall a thorough search, but nothing unreasonable, and I generally am in favour of how security checks are done in Israel. Rarely took more than 15-20min to get through security which is pretty impressive IMO considering the high-risk environment...

However, during my last visit I took a domestic flight from TLV to Eilat r/t on LY and got the number 5 and 6 treatment respectively, and let´s just say, it was no fun.

So this got me thinking:

Did I just get unlucky twice in a row or is security that much stricter on domestic flights than international flights? Or was the added security due to flying LY?

Also, do they keep records which security sticket number I received in the past (potentially making future searches more unpleasant)?

If I should expect this kind of treatment on a regular basis, I´m somewhat less enthusiastic to travel to/through TLV, particularly for domestic flights...

i'v always found security virtually the same!
