This was very long ago immediately in the post-Soviet aftermath. It is a completely different airline now with Western standards.

Aeroflot is good airline. Had no problem with them.
Only problem can be with russians who like to drink a lot on board. They can be quite noisy.

Very nice find. Unfortunately only 75% to Delta SM for L class.

Standards in Russia are a joke. Corruption is everything. Not hard to bribe someone to look the other way. 100bucks and your headache is solved. Wouldn't fly Aeroflot either

Aeroflot holds best direct flight between Russia and USA, except obe SQ flight Moscow-Houston ofc :-)
Good food, modern clean aircraft and AVOD system avialible. Much better then deltas 767 on the same route.

OH PLEASE

I flew LAX-SVO-LHR, and DEL-SVO-NRT on SU in 2009.

Excellent new A330s at the time. Food was superb, the FAs hot. The SVO-LHR flight was not classic $hitty european pseudo business but real business class. Fantastic service and AVOD all around

I connected to a Delta flight NRT-LAX, which after the SU flights was like riding in a broken down chevy

Only problem on SU was that when I asked for a vodka on ice, I got a cup full of vodka with two icecubes floating in it. :D

Cold war is over. I flew JFK-SVO(DL)-DEL(SU). SU was pretty good, if you are not on IL-76. Their meal service is very good. I would not hesitate to fly SU.

SU was pretty good, if you are not on IL-76.

That would be quite hard to achieve, given that the IL-76 is a freigher... ;)

I would not hesitate to fly SU.

Ditto.
Except that the 75% mileage earning rate makes MRs on them all but impossible... :td:

Having flown SU via LAX SVO DEL I can say their aircraft was perfectly fine, service was superb, meals were as nice as any other international carrier, and the aircraft (767) was no different. The business class seat was comparable to AF or LH. No complaints at all, and some of the female FA's were quite visually appealing.

You guys really ought to give Aeroflot a try before trashing it.

I have flown Aeroflot three times and had three tremendous flights.

I flew Aeroflot a few days ago between SVO and LED and found the experience to be pleasant and the flight attendants more professional than you find on a typical short-haul flight within the US.

I would have thought the catering outbound was loaded at LAX , how was it on the return?

In April I flew BKK-SVO-KBP-SVO-AMS-SVO-LAX and have nothing but positive things to say about my time on Aeroflot. Actually, their inflight movie selections was considerably better than KE A380.

The flight attendants were quite nice, although most of them spoke VERY LITTLE english..so they "appeared" to be aloof...I just don't think they wanted to engage me in conversation because of their lacking english.

In April I flew BKK-SVO-KBP-SVO-AMS-SVO-LAX

But I must say that the BKK-SVO route was quite the party plane with all of the Russian tourists completing their Thai holidays. Lot's of them came on drunk/hungover, but managed to behave.

Great pics.

The new SVO is a dramatic improvement.

Terminal D at SVO is an absolute delight: clean, spacious, and free wi-fi. My only complaint is the food - the options are rather limited and pretty pricey.

Having flown JFK-SVO on both SU and DL in Y class, I can say that Aeroflot wins hands down. Perhaps I was somewhat biased by the fact that my SVO-JFK leg on SU was flown by a brand-new A330, while I had DL's tired-looking 763s both ways, but my Aeroflot JFK-SVO segment was also on a tired-looking 763, and the service (and food!) was still much better than DL's product.

I've also flown them domestically (SVO-LED) and the service was very nice for a short (just over an hour) flight. Yet the negative reputation still exists in the West, which is just too bad. Or a good thing, if it means that Aeroflot is lowering fares to raise demand

I flew the LED-SVO shuttle as well, on a TU-154, and found it to be a great flight. Friendly service by a gorgeous FA, a small meal, and great legroom.

With the exception that SU does not have TU-154s for some time :D:D:D. On LED-SVO there are mostly Airbuses 31x-32x operating.

You must have flown something else or very long time ago
