Anyone know what is Airtran's refund policy on purchases made for advance seating (for ex: $20 for exit row seat) ? I checked their website but didn't see any info on this.
Thanks.

As for a complete refund because you changed your mind, I am not sure, either. PA42 Apr 10, 12, 12:57 pm Is there a specific seat fee that you want to refund or are you asking generally? idlebrain Apr 10, 12, 5:31 pm Is there a specific seat fee that you want to refund or are you asking generally? I am just asking in general. traveller001 Apr 12, 12, 3:27 pm 1-800-AIRTRAN or 1-866-AIR-CHAT should be able to answer your specific needs. abefroman329 Apr 27, 12, 10:54 am I know advance seat purchases can be applied as credit toward business class upgrades. Yes, and I'm pretty sure nowadays the website will automatically charge your card, say, $43 if you requested a $49 upgrade but already paid $6 towards an advance seat assignment. Since I've been able to purchase an upgrade on every single FL flight I've taken for the past several years, I find the situation is solved easiest by not buying an advance seat assignment. That is the easiest solution. However, I have never had a problem having the advance purchase credited toward an upgrade. traveller001 Apr 28, 12, 5:36 pm If you change and re-fare if exit row is still available that should be your decision. If not request it be removed for credit toward the new fare. If you cancel, one would think that too would be included in a credit file. Minus the $75 change fee of course. But yes, if you upgrade at t-24 that's an automatic credit towards the upgrade. rthib Apr 30, 12, 7:57 am Similar question but using points. I have enough points to upgrade us outbound but not back. If I use points on the upgrade can I apply the seat fee I paid on my return flight? abefroman329 May 1, 12, 10:30 am That is the easiest solution. However, I have never had a problem having the advance purchase credited toward an upgrade. Well, I never had a problem either, it's just a lot easier now than it was back when you'd have to call them to have the credit applied to your upgrade request (armed with confirmation #, flight #, credit card # since I didn't have an A+ acct back then...) |
